Full Job Description
Job Description

Enlighten is seeking a Senior Capture/Business Development Lead to lead our expansion into the All-Domain Big Data Management space. This is not a traditional "capture/BD" role. We need a technical strategist who understands how to bridge the gap between high-end commercial tech and the specific data requirements of the DoW, Intelligence Community, and our Global Allies across air, land, sea, space, and cyber.

You will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and winning opportunities that leverage our core internal products and mission infrastructure to solve the military's most pressing "Data-at-the-Edge" and "Cloud-to-Tactical" challenges globally.

#LI-JG2 #Executive

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth: Develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy specifically for All-Domain Big Data Management, targeting major domestic programs (OTAs, Mid-Tier Acquisitions) and international market cultivation.
  • International Mission Cultivation: Identify and nurture direct relationships with international partners, foreign Ministries of Defense (MoDs), and security agencies. Focus on building technical partnerships that address shared all-domain mission sets and coalition interoperability.
  • Global Market Development: Drive Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) and international partnership agreements. Position Enlighten's high-end tech as the preferred solution for global allies seeking sophisticated big data orchestration and cyber defense.
  • International Regulatory Navigation: Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all global business activities adhere to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), EAR (Export Administration Regulations), and other relevant trade compliance frameworks.
  • Technical Advocacy: Work closely with our Product Champions and Engineers to translate complex technical capabilities into compelling mission narratives for both domestic and international military leadership.
  • Organic Growth Engine: Partner with Enlighten leadership to expand existing relationships and identify "sole-source" opportunities through high-end technical white papers and prototype demonstrations.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of high-probability domestic and international opportunities, ensuring a seamless handoff to the PMO and Product Owners for execution.
  • Customer Engagement: Act as the primary interface for PEOs, COCOMs, and international technical leads, positioning Enlighten as the premier global partner for big data orchestration.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI preferred, but can consider candidates with a current Secret level clearance to begin; U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Domain Expertise: 10+ years of experience in Defense/Intel Business Development, with a specific focus on Big Data, Cloud Architecture, or Cybersecurity with Bachelors in related field; or 8 years with Masters in a related field.
  • International Market Development: Proven track record of cultivating international opportunities and navigating direct-to-MoD or global partnership sales cycles.
  • Technical Fluency: Ability to engage deeply with senior technical leaders (CTOs, Chief Data Officers). You should be comfortable discussing data platforms, pipelines, CI/CD, and cross-domain solutions and connect these concepts to mission needs.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of ITAR, EAR, and export control regulations essential for deploying high-end technology to international partners.
  • Non-Traditional Savvy: Deep understanding of the modern defense acquisition landscape, including familiarity with "Middle Tier" acquisition and rapid prototyping cycles.
  • Mission-First Mindset: Many of our team members are veterans; a deep appreciation for the military mission and the sacrifices of the warfighter-at home and abroad-is essential.
  • Customers: Frequent contact with managers and customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarifications. Conducts briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel 50%+ (CONUS and OCONUS) to engage directly with customers, partner teams, and Enlighten offices.
  • Work Location: Based out of Columbia, MD, with the flexibility to adapt daily schedules and travel as customer and team needs arise.

We have many more additional great benefits/perks that you can find on our website at www.enlighten.com.
