Team: Buying, Merchandising

Location: Remote or Hybrid on-site at the Studio McGee | Mcgee & Co. HQ in Draper, UT

Overview:

McGee & Co. is seeking a Senior Buyer with expertise in Textiles and Brick & Mortar Retail to join our team growing team. The Senior Buyer is responsible for developing and executing category and assortment strategies that support business objectives, customer trends, and financial goals. This role drives product assortment decisions, identifies growth opportunities, and partners cross-functionally to bring collections to market successfully.

The ideal candidate is both strategic and execution-focused, with a strong understanding of merchandising, financial analysis, trend forecasting, and customer behavior. This individual will lead assortment development, influence product direction, and collaborate closely with Design, Planning, WebOps, Sourcing, Production, Creative, and Visual teams to deliver a cohesive customer experience across all channels.

This role requires a strong balance of analytical thinking, creative product vision, leadership, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop store and textile category strategies to achieve top line sales and margin goals
  • Analyze sales trends, customer insights, competitive markets, and business performance to identify opportunities and drive assortment optimization
  • Build and manage assortment plans including product mix, pricing architecture, SKU productivity, assortment rankings, and category positioning
  • Present business recaps, assortment strategies, financial performance, and growth opportunities to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Identify emerging trends, whitespace opportunities, and new product concepts that support future business growth and customer engagement
  • Lead category reviews, SWOT analyses, and assortment performance evaluations to inform strategic decision-making
  • Partner cross-functionally with multiple teams to execute seasonal launches and ensure timelines are met
  • Manage assortment tools, merchandising documents, SKU creation, and product setup to support seasonal launches and operational accuracy
  • Lead product presentation setup and support seasonal milestone meetings and assortment reviews
  • Collaborate on eCommerce and Brick & Mortar merchandising, product storytelling, copy direction, image assets, and seasonal campaign support
  • Lead coordination of store floor sets, photo sample requests and product needs for marketing and ecommerce initiatives
  • Grow and develop team of Associate and Assistant Buyer


Qualifications:
