This position affords the opportunity for career development within the Purchasing organization and with other cross-functional groups.
The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing activities supporting various commodities and assembly modules. The purchasing responsibilities include supplier negotiations, sourcing on time and to target, driving annual cost savings activities and development and implementation of global commodity strategies. Lead the resolution and negotiation of commercial issues. The selected candidate will interact with many cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and Finance.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), Business, Finance, Economics, or closely related field from an ABET accredited university
- Minimum of 7 years of purchasing or closely related relevant experience
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Strong communication, presentation and commodity leadership skills
- Well organized, self-motivated, and resourceful managing complex situations
- Ability to support all aspects of the commercial relationship with the supply base and key internal stakeholders
- Must be skilled at relationship building, cost analysis, negotiation (both internal and external), benchmarking, time management and presentations to all levels of management
- Strong use of MS Office Suite/G Suite
