Full Job Description
What you will do

This Senior Buyer is accountable for the Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Features (QDCF) of suppliers within the Chassis Vehicle Dynamics segment. You will be responsible for making sure that the segment business plan is implemented through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCF performance by using the tools and purchasing/cross-functional network during production and post-production phases.

You will be based out of our Greensboro, NC headquarter location, and will report to the Head of Chassis Vehicle Dynamics & 3P Purchasing NA.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance, enhanced product quality, innovative technology, and maximum value
  • Drive negotiations and executive agreements with suppliers within the Chassis Vehicle Dynamics segment.
  • Contribute to segment business plan and be an active member in the global network of Buyers
  • Collaborate with other members of the global supply chain to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and technology strategies
  • Use Volvo Production System (VPS) toolbox to drive efficiency across the supply chain
  • Drive all relevant activities to deliver on Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Features targets (QDCF)
  • Monitor, identify, and mitigate risks in cooperation with the Supply Network Quality (SNQ) team
  • Monitor and analyze supplier capacity to proactively eliminate potential plant impacts and aftermarket part shortages
  • Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
  • Manage and negotiate product/processes changes during production and post-production phases
  • Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics, and financial flows to the suppliers

For this position, the base pay is set at $95,965.00 - $118,545.00 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
