Full Job Description
The Business Solutions Engineer is responsible for identifying operational challenges and designing, building, implementing, and supporting technology and process solutions that improve business performance. This role partners with business leaders and operational teams to understand requirements, evaluate solution options, develop scalable solutions, and support them throughout their lifecycle.

Solutions may include workflows, applications, data products, integrations, reporting tools, automation, controls, and process improvements. The Business Solutions Engineer works across multiple functions to deliver secure, supportable, and sustainable solutions that improve operational efficiency, data quality, and decision-making.

Job Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Solution Design

  • Partner with business and operational teams to understand processes, identify gaps, and define business requirements.


  • Analyze operational challenges and develop solution recommendations.


  • Determine whether business needs are best addressed through process improvements, technology solutions, data structures, reporting capabilities, or workflow automation.


  • Prioritize initiatives based on business value, risk, complexity, and resource requirements.


  • Define success measures and expected outcomes for solutions.


Solution Development & Implementation

  • Design, configure, develop, test, deploy, and maintain business solutions.


  • Develop prototypes to validate requirements and solution feasibility.


  • Convert approved concepts into production-ready solutions.


  • Create and maintain technical and functional documentation.


  • Manage solutions throughout their lifecycle, including enhancements and issue resolution.


  • Ensure solutions meet security, supportability, and governance requirements.


Workflow Automation & Systems Integration

  • Develop workflows, forms, routing processes, approvals, and case management solutions.


  • Build integrations between systems, applications, and data sources using APIs, connectors, and scripting tools.


  • Design data models, validation controls, and information structures that support business operations.


  • Establish standards, templates, and reusable components to improve consistency and efficiency.


Adoption & Operational Support

  • Support user testing, implementation, training, and change management activities.


  • Provide production support and troubleshoot issues.


  • Monitor solution performance and recommend enhancements.


  • Measure and report operational outcomes and business value.


  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and results to stakeholders.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role is an individual contributor role and will work cross functionally with leaders of business units.

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience

  • Six (6) or more years of experience in business systems, solution development, business process improvement, application development, data management, or a related field.


  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting business applications, workflows, databases, or operational solutions.


  • Experience gathering requirements and delivering solutions from concept through production support.


  • Experience using workflow, automation, or low-code platforms such as ServiceNow, Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, Salesforce, or similar technologies.


  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, APIs, integrations, testing, and production support.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI.


  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments.


  • Experience supporting claims, payment integrity, provider operations, member operations, or clinical functions.


  • Relevant technical or platform certifications.

Pay Range: $130,332.00 - $195,498.00
Pay range may be based on a number of factors including market location, education, responsibilities, experience, etc.
