What you'll do

As a key member of Operations Business Process Management group, you will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Supply Chain, IT, Engineering, and Business unit functions to develop and implement the processes, systems, and technology roadmap to enhance business performance across key objectives like time to market, quality, agility, and operational excellence. A successful candidate will bring a wealth of Business Process and Systems experience as well as strategic thought leadership, will be able to quickly understand the specific business needs of ViaSat, and possess the influence needed to gain consensus and drive implementation, moving the business forward in the near term while positioning it to scale effectively with projected growth in the future.

The day-to-day

  • Manage the rollout of Manufacturing Execution and Shop Floor Control Systems enterprise wide
  • Develop and manage the digital factory roadmap
  • Provide the vision and multi-year strategic plan for process capabilities and technologies that provides the optimal pace of transformation in the near and longer term.
  • Lead and grow a versatile team of Process Analysts, Systems Analysts, and Data Analysts.
  • Effectively manage the relationship with users, stakeholders, and functional leaders.
  • Leverage Data Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, Robotic Process Automation, and Intelligent Process Automation to transform manufacturing capabilities.
  • Develop approaches for implementing emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and IOT.
  • Develop, refine, and inform on relevant metrics and KPIs that demonstrate transformation progress and the associated impact to business performance.

What you'll need

  • 8+ years of experience in Manufacturing within a high-tech aerospace and defense environment
  • Knowledgeable on the product realization tool chain including CAD Modelling, Product Data Mgmt, Product Lifecycle Mgmt, MRP, and Shop Floor Control
  • Extensive knowledge of key Functions such as Design Engineering, Configuration Mgmt, NPI, Mfg Engineering, Production Test, and Quality
  • Skilled in Process Engineering, Process Improvement, Business Process Analysis and Management
  • Knowledgeable on industry standard processes in MES and Shop Floor Control
  • Skilled in Project mgmt. and team leadership
  • Experience with portfolio management and functional technology roadmaps
  • Experience with regulated environments such as ITAR, FAA, etc.
  • Strong relationship building, teamwork and communication skills
  • Skilled in articulating value and developing effective business cases
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, IT, or Business or equivalent
  • US citizenship required
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Salary range

$127,000.00 - $201,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $158,000.00- $237,000.00/ annually
