Position SummaryAs part of Odyssey’s team of Growth professionals, the Senior Business Development Manager (BDM), Dept of Navy, will successfullyidentify, qualify, andmaintaina funnel of new business opportunities, and lead growth initiatives for the organization. This market is green field for Odyssey, and as such requires an enthusiastic self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who is hungry to create and build a portfolio from scratch. Success in this position requires a proactive approach and a deep understanding of the Dept of Navy market. Working closely with the five operational business group Executive Directors (Aviation, C2ISR, CCN2, Space and Missile Defense, Life Sciences), this BDM reports directly to the Executive Director,BDand Capture.This is a full-time hybrid role ideally based out of a Fleet concentration area (San Diego, Tidewater VA, Groton CT) or an Odyssey corporate office.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Collaborate with Capture, Proposals, Operations and Technical SMEs to pursue a unifiedDept of Navybusiness development strategy.
- Collaborate with other market Business Development Managers to drive new business and business relationships across all market accounts.
- Identify, qualify, and maintain arobust pipelineof new business opportunities.
- Identify potential future business opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
- Maintain a currentand relevant understanding of emerging/growth markets and long-term trends inDept of Navyrelated technology development, procurement and operational needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders withinDept of Navyrelated program offices and developmental organizations across the DoD.
- Build partnerships with other defense contractors and prime integrators toaccelerate time to value and multiply Odyssey’s impact.
- RepresentOdysseyat industry events, conferences, and trade shows to absorb, engage and promote our services and network with potential clients.Identify and pursue business opportunities that result.
- Assist in proposal reviews and activity, ensuring alignment with customer needs and compliance with requirements.
- Meet or exceed annual sales and profitability goals as established byOdyssey, contribute to goal development.
- Prepare presentations and brief Executive Leadership team at stage reviews and manager’s meetings and offsites.
- Continuously contribute to the evolution and expansion of Odyssey’s reputation and engagement activity.

Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Clearance:Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.
Education:Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or Technical Discipline, or relevantmilitary, government or business experience.
Years of Experience:3-5 years Business Development or Capture experience in DoDservicescompanies, preferably supportingDept of Navycustomers and markets.
Preferred Qualifications:
Clearance:Active Top Secret
Education:Master's Degree in a business field.
Certifications:Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or Shipley certification.
Experience:10+ years of Military orfederal civil service experience strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated track record of identifying and closing new business in similar organizations to Odyssey using consultative and collaborative multi-discipline team approach.
- Strong understanding of requirements shaping and acquisition/procurement process within the DoD with specific focus onDept of Navyrelated organizations.
- Strong familiarity withDept of Navycustomer base, industrial base and/or user communities supporting acquisition, development, testing, integrationsustainmentand requirements development activities at key hub location.
- Recenttrack recordof winning Naval programs.

Location:Hybrid, ideally from a major Fleet concentration area (San Diego, Groton, Tidewater), the greater Washington DC area, or near an Odyssey corporate office.
