The RoleResponsibilities:- Validate the catalogue item by item against business reality; resolve gaps, duplicates and misclassifications in the inventory's starting-hypothesis domain tags.
- Classify each item by type and authority: domain-owned data product, shared capability, or operational application outside the analytical mesh.
- Corroborate or dispute the dependency and lineage findings using knowledge of how the business moves the data.
- Establish domain semantics and boundary definitions for the assigned product area, in language the business owners will sign.
- Apply the ownership rules and drive contested-item resolution to a decision, escalating to DACI only where genuinely irreducible.
- Identify the consuming domains behind every extract feed and downstream application in the assigned area and specify the contract obligations that follow.
- Facilitate validation workshops with named business-domain and IT owners; document findings to a standard that survives review.
Requirements:- 10+ years in capital markets, of which at least 5 in a data-adjacent role: data ownership, business data analysis, regulatory reporting, or middle-office data management. Pure front-office trading experience without the data dimension will not work here.
- Deep product knowledge in at least one of the four coverage tracks above and working knowledge of a second.
- Ability to read a data dictionary, a lineage map and a stored-procedure findings matrix, and to dispute them on business grounds.
- Workshop facilitation with front-office, Reg Ops, Risk and Finance stakeholders in a large bank; the ability to get a decision out of a room that would rather defer.
