Job Purpose

The NYSE Institute advocates for the more than 2,400 public companies listed on NYSE exchanges and promotes the long-term strength of U.S. capital markets, as the policy arm of the NYSE’s listings business.

This role reports to the Director of the NYSE Institute, helping to ensure that policy strategy is supported by disciplined research, clear writing, and reliable operational follow-through.

The right candidate is self-directed, a strong writer, and energized by the substance of financial regulation and public markets policy. This role offers direct exposure to SEC rulemaking, congressional engagement, and issuer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze active SEC rulemakings, upcoming comment deadlines, congressional hearings, and other regulatory and legislative activity relevant to NYSE-listed companies, flagging implications and recommending NYSE’s response or positioning
• Independently synthesize information about government activity into clear, timely summaries for internal and external audiences.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert on the federal financial regulatory landscape and the legislative process as it affects public companies.
• Lead the drafting and editing of external-facing documents including issuer communications and comment letters.
• Manage the production of recurring written products that synthesize issuer feedback into polished, publication-ready documents.
• Coordinate issuer outreach programs, helping to develop outreach strategy and cultivate relationships.
• Track and organize issuer feedback to identify trends for NYSE Institute’s strategy.
• Prepare and shape briefing materials, talking points, and background documents for the Director and senior leadership in advance of regulatory and government meetings, exercising judgement on messaging and priorities
• Assist with coordinating NYSE Institute roundtables and NYSE Institute Advisory Board meetings, including briefing documents and attendee follow-up.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of experience in a policy, regulatory, communications, or professional services environment.
• Experience at a regulator, congressional office, trade association, financial services firm, communications office, or law firm preferred.
• Familiarity with SEC rulemaking, federal financial regulation, public company disclosure and governance requirements, and/or investor relations preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely for a professional audience, such as newsletters, regulatory trackers, or briefing memos.
• Ability to independently identify and synthesize information from a variety of sources.
• Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong professional judgment and discretion.
• Comfort operating in an environment with C-suite and senior government officials.
• Self-directed work style.

New York Base SalaryRange

The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $100,000 - 120,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
