About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Business Aligned Finance Analyst to support Corporate Risk Finance, with primary coverage of Operational Risk and Model Risk Management. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at .

This is a high-visibility role for someone who enjoys connecting numbers to business activity.  The successful candidate will help explain how expense, headcount, organizational changes, allocations, and business initiatives affect the financial outlook, while building strong relationships across Finance, Corporate Risk, and supported partner teams.

The role offers broad exposure to a dynamic business environment, a strong team, and opportunities to deepen FP&A expertise, strengthen senior leader communication, and develop enterprise navigation skills.  It is intellectually challenging and provides meaningful involvement in business decisions, helping shape the financial story behind key priorities.  This is a strong fit for someone who wants to grow beyond reporting into business advisory, financial storytelling, and decision support.


In this role, you will:

  • Support forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, expense management, headcount reporting, and risks/opportunities for Operational Risk and Model Risk Management within Corporate Risk.

  • Analyze financial results, forecasts, headcount trends, budget transfers, organizational moves, allocations, and business initiatives to identify key drivers, explain variances, assess whether outputs align with expectations, and define appropriate follow-up actions.

  • Prepare accurate, leadership-ready reporting packages, including monthly forecast updates, year-to-date and full-year expense commentary, headcount reporting, multi-year views, and direct and indirect expense analysis.

  • Translate operating model changes, efficiency initiatives, location strategy actions, headcount movements, organizational moves, and expense allocation impacts into clear financial context.

  • Develop executive-ready materials, commentary, and presentations that frame key drivers, trade-offs, recommendations, and follow-up questions for leadership discussions.

  • Partner across Finance, Corporate Risk, supported businesses, and related teams to understand drivers, resolve issues, and move work forward.

  • Navigate teams, systems, reporting tools, datasets, and processes with ownership and follow-through to identify the right information, stakeholders, and resources.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

  • Ability to question variances, connect financial inputs, and determine whether results reconcile, align with expectations, or require further investigation.

  • Strong reconciliation discipline across reporting, tie-outs, commentary, and leadership-facing deliverables.

  • Ability to prepare executive-ready materials, support senior leader discussions, respond thoughtfully to follow-up questions, and continue building credibility through clear analysis, sound judgment, and strong presence.

  • Ability to partner across Finance, Corporate Risk, supported business organizations, and partner teams while navigating systems, datasets, reporting tools, and processes with ownership, curiosity, and follow-through.

  • Ability to translate financial results into clear business context, including operating model changes, efficiency initiatives, headcount actions, location strategy, organizational moves, and expense allocation impacts.

  • Experience supporting close, forecast, variance analysis, expense management, headcount reporting, management reporting, and risks/opportunities for risk, control, compliance, finance, or other enterprise functions.

  • Ability to investigate issues, clarify trade-offs, escalate when needed, propose practical paths forward, and balance recurring cycles with ad hoc requests while maintaining accuracy.

  • Ability to explain allocation drivers, cost movements, and internal chargeback impacts in clear, business-facing terms.

  • Experience with Excel, financial systems, reporting tools, large datasets, dashboards, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
