JOB TITLE

Join Hyundai America Tecnical Center's (HATCI) Finance & Accounting team, located in Irvine, CA and play a critical role in fueling the future of automotive innovation. As a Senior Budget Analyst, you'll be at the center of our research and development investments, empowering teams, driving accountability, and ensuring our ambitious goals are backed by world-class financial strategy.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Lead & Influence
  • Own and lead vehicle-related budget coordination for California teams (projects, fixed assets, product development)
  • Partner closely with our Michigan team to co-manage systems, drive alignment, and promote best practices
  • Facilitate cross-regional collaboration between California, Michigan, and Korea-based teams


Analyze & Optimize
  • Review budgets, analyze spending trends, and identify gaps in execution
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve budget performance
  • Conduct monthly forecasts, variance analysis, and ROI assessments

Guide & Enable
  • Prepare and present budgets for leadership approval
  • Train teams on budget processes, tools, and compliance requirements
  • Lead monthly spending performance meetings with California teams


Build & Improve
  • Maintain and enhance the internal budgetdatabase (incl. Microsoft 365, SharePoint)
  • Support continuous improvement of reporting standards and financial systems
  • Assist with HQ Finance requests and budget recovery efforts


WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office (Teams, SharePoint)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in theautomotive industry is a plus
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet or similar tools
  • Knowledge ofSAP
  • Proficient Korean Language a plus
