Job Description
Midland Transport is currently seeking a Senior Broker in Brampton, ON. The Senior Broker manages a portfolio of Brokerage Accounts leading both commercial strategy and operational development and execution. This role assists the Midland Sales team in handling client inquiries and issues in regard to the Brokerage Division. Identifies market trends and implement strategies to drive value in terms of financial outcomes and customer facing outcomes. Leads all aspects of customer orders, pricing, contracts an execution. They are timely, self-led and coordinates with other departments such as Finance, Dispatch and Administration to ensure Superior Quality Service is being experienced by all clients.

Responsibilities
• Support sales team in driving Brokerage and Truckload growth, with a focus on new, non-affiliate accounts.
• Partner with Sales on client strategy, attend meetings, and contribute pricing and operational expertise.
• Build and manage client relationships across North America, including contract pricing and service delivery.
• Lead client interactions, responding to inquiries, rate requests, and time-sensitive communications.
• Ensure seamless coordination between Truckload and Brokerage divisions to enhance customer experience.
• Manage and grow a strong carrier network by identifying market trends and developing coverage strategies.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to achieve divisional KPIs, financial targets, and operational goals.
• Oversee account performance, ensuring portfolios are current and meeting customer requirements.
• Support pipeline development and assist in closing sales opportunities.
• Mentor and guide junior team members (Logistics Planners and Assistants) to support team development.
• Drive process improvements and strategic initiatives to support organizational growth and efficiency.
Qualifications
• University Degree
• 10-15+ years experience in related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem solving and prioritizing skills.
• Excellent people management skills mentoring, coaching and leadership.
• Ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Direct experience in the North American transportation industry, including existing transportation partner relationships.
