The Role

This hands-on role is both strategic and tactical, requiring close collaboration with management, executives, and various specialists. The Senior BIM Modeler will oversee and manage steel detailing projects, ensuring accurate and timely completion of deliverables. They will work closely with architects, engineers, and fabricators to gather information, review drawings for compliance, supervise detailers, and conduct quality checks. You will also handle project documentation, progress reporting, and implement process improvements. This role presents an opportunity to contribute to the successful execution of steel detailing projects, while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage steel detailing projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and fabricators to gather necessary information for project execution.
  • Review drawings for compliance with codes and standards, supervising detailers to ensure accurate fabrication drawings and plans.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed deliverables to verify accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare project documentation and progress reports, effectively communicating project status and potential risks.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements to streamline workflows.


Requirements
  • Extensive experience in steel detailing and knowledge of fabrication processes.
  • Proficient in Tekla Structures.
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • An associate degree in Detailing or similar, or 10 years minimum structural steel detailing experience.
  • Familiarity with construction processes and building codes.
