Position Description: CGI is seeking a Senior BI Developer (Power BI & Azure) to support one of Canada's leading financial institutions within its Global Fraud Technology team.
Working closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Architects, and stakeholders, you will design and deliver scalable Business Intelligence solutions across the Microsoft ecosystem. You will develop ETL pipelines, data models, and Power BI reporting solutions that transform complex data into actionable business insights while supporting enterprise fraud analytics.
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office and/or the client office a minimum of two days per week, subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities: - Build best-in-class Business Intelligence solutions that support the Fraud Analytics product roadmap.
- Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable BI solutions that meet business objectives.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
- Design and optimize logical and physical data models for high-volume analytical environments.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
- Conduct data profiling, source-to-target mapping, and data quality analysis.
- Develop and support Power BI reports, datasets, and related data pipelines.
- Collaborate with Data Architects, ETL Developers, and Data Analysts to deliver high-performing enterprise reporting solutions.
- Participate in release management, testing, documentation, code reviews, operational readiness, and production support.
- Follow Agile delivery practices and established development standards to ensure high-quality solutions.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: - Postsecondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Business Intelligence certification is considered an asset.
- 5-7 years of experience delivering enterprise Business Intelligence solutions using Microsoft technologies.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server, SQL scripting, data analysis, profiling, and data mapping.
- Extensive experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Integration Services Catalog, and project deployment.
- Experience developing ETL solutions using Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
- Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling and data warehouse design.
- Working knowledge of Power BI development, report design, datasets, and semantic models.
- Experience supporting Power BI production environments and resolving production incidents.
- Experience working in Agile Scrum teams and Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience within financial services or fraud analytics.
- Microsoft Power BI, Azure, or Business Intelligence certifications.
- Experience with Windows batch scripting and automation.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale data platforms.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000-$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
