Role overviewWe are seeking a hands-on
Senior BI Analyst who can evaluate, select, configure, and implement the right Business Intelligence platform based on business and technical requirements.
The role will work across BI tool assessment, data modeling, semantic layer design, dashboard development, reporting, data validation, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with both business and technical stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into scalable BI solutions.
Key responsibilities:1.BI Tool Evaluation & Selection- Evaluate and compare BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar enterprise BI tools.
- Assess BI platforms based on business requirements, usability, scalability, integration capabilities, and cost.
- Support proof-of-concepts and recommend suitable BI platforms based on defined requirements.
- Perform hands-on setup, configuration, and validation of selected BI tools.
- Conduct comparative assessments and document findings and recommendations.
2.Data Modeling & Semantic Layer- Design and build scalable data models and semantic layers.
- Develop dimensional models, measures, KPIs, and reusable reporting structures.
- Ensure data models support reporting, analytics, performance, and scalability requirements.
- Validate data accuracy, relationships, calculations, and business logic.
- Apply BI data modeling and semantic layer best practices.
3.Dashboard & Reporting Development- Build interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations for business and operational users.
- Develop meaningful KPIs and reporting solutions based on business requirements.
- Connect BI platforms to databases, cloud data warehouses, APIs, and enterprise data sources.
- Troubleshoot data connectivity, reporting, and dashboard performance issues.
- Optimize dashboards and reports for usability, performance, and data accuracy.
4.Collaboration & Delivery- Partner with business stakeholders, data engineers, and architects to understand and translate reporting requirements.
- Convert business requirements into scalable BI solutions.
- Collaborate with technical teams on data availability, source systems, and integration requirements.
- Define BI standards and best practices for data modeling, dashboard design, performance, governance, and data accuracy.
- Support implementation activities from BI platform evaluation through production delivery.
5.Data Validation & Performance Optimization- Perform data quality validation and reconciliation across BI reports and underlying data sources.
- Identify and troubleshoot data inconsistencies and reporting issues.
- Conduct BI performance analysis and implement optimization recommendations.
- Support testing of BI solutions, including functional, data, and performance validation.
- Ensure BI solutions meet defined business and technical requirements.
Required technical skills and competencies:- 4-6+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or reporting.
- Strong hands-on dashboard development and data modeling experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or comparable enterprise BI platforms.
- Strong SQL skills with experience working with cloud data warehouses and enterprise data sources.
- Experience with semantic modeling and dimensional modeling.
- Strong understanding of KPIs, measures, and dashboard development.
- Experience evaluating BI tools and supporting tool selection, setup, and implementation.
- Experience working with business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of BI reporting, data validation, and performance optimization.
