About the Team - Pre-Sales ToolsPre-Sales Tools team powers the tools and experiences that let insurance agents and distribution partners quote, configure, and submit applications before checkout. It's Bestow's B2B front door - if agents struggle here, they send leads elsewhere. This team is directly upstream of revenue. Every tool improvement means faster, more accurate agent submissions and more policies issued. Leadership sees this team's output in sales metrics weekly.
What You'll Do- Build and scale Go services powering agent quoting, configuration, and application-submission tools used before checkout.
- Partner closely with the App & Checkout teams given the tight coupling between surfaces.
- Take on architectural-leadership work that the team's acting-EM situation has left open - proposing direction, not just executing it.
- Resolve partner-specific edge cases as distribution partners and volume scale.
- Write unit and integration tests for the code you ship; peer review code from others on the team.
- Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) as a default part of your daily workflow - this is an expectation, not a bonus skill.
- Encourage automation, CI/CD, and continuous improvement across the team.
Who You Are- 5+ years of professional backend software development experience.
- Professional experience with Go; comfortable owning services end to end.
- Experience with distributed systems or microservices, and designing APIs (REST, gRPC, OpenAPI, Protocol Buffers).
- Experience using Docker for local development, and CI/CD as a default practice.
- Demonstrated, day-to-day fluency using AI tools (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, etc.) in real engineering work - able to speak concretely about where they help and where they don't.
- Comfortable stepping into architectural or mentorship gaps without needing a formal title to do so.
