The AI Protection team is building the foundation that enables enterprises to adopt Generative AI safely and at scale.
Our team owns the administrative experience for AI Protection, empowering security and IT teams with the visibility, governance, and controls they need to manage AI usage across their organizations. We build the services behind policy management, audit capabilities, AI event collection, and enforcement across leading AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and others.
As AI rapidly transforms the workplace, our mission is to provide organizations with deep visibility, intelligent controls, and enterprise-grade security-without slowing users down.
What You'll Do
- Design and build highly scalable backend services powering Island's AI Protection platform.
- Build the administrative experience used by enterprise IT and security teams.
- Develop services for collecting, processing, and presenting AI-related audit events across the platform.
- Design and implement policy management capabilities that allow organizations to define and enforce AI governance.
- Build web enforcement mechanisms for leading AI applications including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and emerging AI services.
- Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to aggregate AI security events into a unified platform.
- Design distributed systems with a strong focus on scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
- Partner closely with Product, Frontend, Security, and Infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end features.
RequirementsWhat We're Looking For
- Strong backend engineering experience building distributed, cloud-native systems.
- Excellent software design and system architecture skills.
- Experience developing scalable APIs and microservices.
- Strong ownership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Passion for building elegant products that solve complex customer problems.
