Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Database Migration Specialist with strong hands-on expertise in AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) to lead and execute database migration activities in collaboration with AWS Platform teams. The role will focus on migrating databases from on-premises and Azure SQL environments to AWS RDS while ensuring minimal downtime, data integrity, performance, and successful modernization outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Lead and execute end-to-end database migration activities using AWS DMS. • Migrate databases from on-premises and Azure SQL environments to AWS RDS. • Utilize AWS DMS and DataSync to support database migration and data transfer activities. • Assess existing database environments and develop appropriate migration strategies. • Design and execute large-scale database migration plans with minimal downtime. • Collaborate with AWS Platform teams and other technical stakeholders throughout migration initiatives. • Validate data integrity and completeness during and after migrations. • Monitor migration performance and troubleshoot migration-related issues. • Support database modernization and cloud transformation initiatives. • Perform post-migration validation, performance optimization, and production support. • Document migration strategies, processes, configurations, and technical outcomes. Required Qualifications • 8-10+ years of experience in Database Administration, Database Migration, and Cloud Transformation projects. • Strong hands-on experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS). • Strong experience with AWS database services. • Experience with AWS RDS. • Experience migrating databases from on-premises environments to AWS. • Experience migrating Azure SQL databases to AWS. • Experience designing and executing end-to-end database migration projects. • Strong understanding of database migration strategies, data integrity, performance, and minimal-downtime migration approaches. • Experience working on cloud-based database modernization initiatives. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to collaborate effectively with AWS Platform and cross-functional technical teams. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Azure Database services. • Experience with AWS DataSync. • Experience supporting large-scale cloud transformation and database modernization programs.
