The Opportunity

As a Senior Associate, Strategy & Business Development, you will own the day-to-day execution and continuous improvement of the firm's business development function. Working closely with senior partners, you will translate commercial priorities into clear action plans and drive initiatives through to completion.

Your responsibilities will span identifying and prioritizing opportunities, coordinating targeted outreach, developing market insights and pitch materials, and managing the firm's client relationship management system. You will be expected to take initiative, exercise sound commercial judgment, and keep work moving with minimal supervision. Applying artificial intelligence to improve the quality and efficiency of these activities will be an important part of the role.

Your Contribution

Your role will include:

Business development content and production
  • Managing and developing the firm's recurring business development content, reports and materials for the investment banking advisory team
  • Preparing proprietary market analyses and business development presentations
  • Running and continuously improving the content production process, applying artificial intelligence to raise quality and throughput

Research and analysis
  • Screening new client and investment opportunities; providing research on target companies, sectors, industries, and geographies
  • Collecting, organizing, and validating data on public and private companies from a variety of sources
  • Analyzing market, sector, company and financial data to develop business development strategies and action plans, and to identify key trends
  • Screening and prioritizing client, investment and advisory opportunities, working with senior team members
  • Extensive use of various databases including Capital IQ and Inframation

Business development support
  • Planning and supporting the execution of outreach campaigns to potential clients and investors
  • Preparing client presentations, pitch material and business development content
  • Creating and maintaining marketing materials for the firm
  • Owning the firm's CRM and book of business

Your Skills and Experience
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in areas such as consulting, corporate development, corporate strategy, corporate advisory, or financial analysis
  • An undergraduate degree with exceptional academic results; in accounting, finance, commerce, business, statistics, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or other related areas
  • Demonstrated comfort working with AI systems and tools in day-to-day work
  • Experience applying artificial intelligence to run or improve business processes is a strong asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sharp analytical skills and an eye for detail
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Independent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Desire to assume increasing levels of responsibility and seek solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
