The Sr. Associate Director of Admissions, MS Programs works as part of the Graduate Business Programs Office team and has primary oversight for aII MS Programs. This position is responsible for the direction, development and implementation of academic and co-curricular activities from the time an applicant accepts an offer of admission through the student's tenure at the Leavey School of Business. The Director will oversee academic advising, implement academic policy, represent Santa Clara University to the graduate business student population as well as community organizations and vendors.

The primary purpose of this position is to develop, manage, and implement the recruitment and admissions strategies for MS programs (online, in-person, and hybrid). The Senior Director position develops the recruitment strategy and oversees operations required for achieving admissions targets. This includes coordination, monitoring of, and communication with the recruitment services provided by SCU Online. These activities are expected to result in consistent enrollment of high-quality students and increased awareness of graduate business programs. There is budget oversight and supervisory responsibility of 1 full time employee and student assistants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Marketing, Recruitment & Admissions
  • Designing and execute recruitment events for in-person prospects
  • Present MS Programs Overview and Admissions Information at on campus Information Sessions, online webinars and off campus fairs and events.
  • Develop recruitment strategy to meet application, admission, and yield targets for all MS programs (MS in Business Analytics, MS in Finance, and MS in Information Systems, MS in Marketing, and MS in Sports Business.)
  • Develop and manage effective recruiting events online, on-campus and off-campus.
  • Utilize Slate, email, phone calls and other channels to communicate with prospective students.
  • Provide input into advertising plan specific to graduate business programs.
  • Partner with external relations and career management teams to develop sustainable sources of qualified students from the Silicon Valley business community.
  • Assess effectiveness of targeting strategies and communications channels for prospects and applicants.
  • Work with the Sr. Assistant Dean of Marketing and Communications to revise website and online communications channels.
  • Manage operations and admission staff.
  • Review applications and render admission decisions.
  • Facilitate scholarship operations.
  • Monitor and assess competitive graduate business programs
  • Obtain and analyze admissions feedback from prospects, applicants, and admits.
  • Complete periodic profiling of new students by program.
  • Assess effectiveness of targeting strategies and communications channels for prospects and applicants. Develop plans for adjustments as needed.
  • As needed to meet recruiting goals, communicate and collaborate with SCU Online on recruiting efforts
  • Leads the recruiting partnership with our global partners for international recruitment


2. Strategy
  • Provides leadership and strategy for the MS programs and coordinates messaging as appropriate with the Assistant Dean.
  • Provides counsel and advice as needed to the Assistant Dean on important topics for the graduate business programs departments and office.


3. Application Operations
  • Manage admission staff and coordination with SCU Online.
  • Utilize social media applications as appropriate.
  • Manage all application procedures and incorporate best practices.
  • Review applications and render admission decisions in the Slate system.
  • Oversee applicant communication and service.
  • Oversee the GMAT/ GRE waiver policy for all MS Programs
  • Ensure smooth transition to academic support team.
  • Interview MS students


4. Financial Aid
  • Facilitate and lead scholarship operations.
  • Work with Financial Aid and Bursar's office to ensure timely communication.
  • Effectively use funds to increase the quality and quantity of students.

  • Prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals.
  • Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions.
  • Prepares and submits reports as requested and required.
  • Develops and implements guidelines to support the functions of the unit.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with University departments

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required; and
  • 5-6 years of related work experience required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Higher Education experience preferred
  • Slate knowledge preferred
