What You'll Do

As a Sr. Associate, Client Service Manager, you will manage a group of Non-Qualified (NQ) clients by independently delivering accurate and timely retirement plan administrative and client services. Independently establishes and maintains effective relationships with nonqualified clients and financial professionals to ensure client retention, growth of the client service block and profitability for all stakeholders. Embodies non-qualified core values in all interactions.

  • Embody non-qualified core values in all interactions.
  • Identify customer expectations and develop a strong working relationship.
  • Use creativity, problem solving skills, and in-depth product knowledge for successfully arriving at solutions for retaining clients and resolving complex client issues.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 4+ years of related experience required (non-qualified retirement plan, qualified retirement plan, or financial services experience preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills required.
  • Accurate, organized, able to meet deadlines, and follow-through on tasks and campaigns.
  • Able to build and maintain good relationships within the organization.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Demonstrates ability to build proven, positive relationships with clients and partners.
  • Understands retirement concepts. On-site client visits may be required and/or minimum travel required.
  • FINRA Series 6 License(s) or ability to obtain within 6 months required. Must meet firm standards for registration within applicable jurisdictions.
  • Fingerprint - You'll be required to become a non-registered fingerprint person of Principal Securities Incorporated (PSI).


Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

$55800 - $126000 / year

  • Sr. Associate, CSM: $55,800 - $75,600
  • Client Service Manager: $69,300 - $94,500

Des Moines, IA / Louisville, KY / Green Bay, WI:
  • Sr. Associate, CSM: $58,900 - $79,800
  • Client Service Manager: $73,150 - $99,750

St. Louis, MO / Pittsburgh, PA / Charlotte, NC:
  • Sr. Associate, CSM: $62,000 - $84,000
  • Client Service Manager: $77,000 - $105,000

Denver, CO / Houston, TX / Chicago, IL / Minneapolis, MN:
  • Sr. Associate, CSM: $68,200 - $92,400
  • Client Service Manager: $84,700 - $115,500

Seattle, WA / Los Angeles, CA / New York City, NY:
  • Sr. Associate, CSM: $74,400 - $100,800
  • Client Service Manager: $92,400 - $126,000


Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Charlotte, NC, and Raleigh, NC). You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.

Client Service Manager

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in client service, financial services, or retirement plan operations is required. This can be shown through work experience, training, military service, or education.
  • Solid knowledge of retirement plan administration and financial concepts, with the capability to implement procedures accurately, efficiently, and with independent judgment.
  • Experience with retirement products and services including defined benefit arrangements, 401(k), 403(b), pension risk transfer group annuity contracts, or other defined contribution offerings.
  • Ability to lead clients and internal teams through intricate plan features and procedures.
