About The RolePosition: Senior Asset Reliability Specialist
Schedule: Shift 14/14 - 12-hour days
Position Reports To: Planning & Reliability Superintendent
Position Overview Reporting to the Planning & Reliability Superintendent, the successful applicant will be overseeing the reliability and maintenance planning programs for the fixed plant assets at Rainy River Mine.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and provide support and direction to a team of maintenance planners, schedulers, reliability specialists, and logistics coordinators.
- Be the champion of reliability centered maintenance activities, utilizing world class, professional maintenance techniques to drive equipment reliability to the highest possible levels.
- Oversee the predictive/preventative fixed plant maintenance program. This includes development of the program including failure analysis and CMMS; successful implementation including teaching others and monitoring to ensure the program is continuously improved.
- Support operations and maintenance to improve equipment reliability.
- Performing defect elimination: failure analysis and leading corrective actions.
- Creating asset strategies: developing processes to prevent and predict equipment failures using operating, maintenance, and condition monitoring techniques.
- Oversee the fixed plant maintenance planning process.
- Plan and schedule mechanical integrity inspections. Requires prioritization of assets, risk-based assessments, recommending remedial actions, and organizing third party inspections as required.
- Work with capital and projects teams to incorporate appropriate reliability improvements into new equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, training and safety improvements.
- Participate in building and forecasting the Mill Maintenance Operating and Capital budgets.
- Facilitate and lead team meetings.
- Oversee specialized contractors during mill and crusher shutdowns and non-routine work.
Qualifications - Engineering degree, majoring in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Systems or Trades certification is requred.
- Min 5 years of experience in maintenance planning and/or reliability engineering.
- Experience developing and using fixed plant maintenance CMMS programs, SAP preferred.
- Training in Reliability Engineering, condition-based monitoring techniques, root cause analysis, lubrication excellence, mechanical integrity are assets.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Visio, MS Project, quantitative risk analysis would be beneficial.
- Proven communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must be extremely organized, have good interpersonal skills, be cooperative and able to work with and lead cross-functional teams.
- Employment is subject to successfully completing New Gold's pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada
CompensationThe anticipated salary range for this position will be between $135,000 to $145,000.
