About the Role
As a Senior Art Director, you'll lead the development of social first ideas and campaigns alongside other creatives - shaping social campaigns from initial concept through execution. You'll craft compelling creative visions, present your thinking to clients, be hands on and provide art direction to designers and production teams, all while becoming a true brand expert and upholding a consistently high creative bar. We are looking for someone who is passionate about seeking new opportunities to create impactful, innovative work - a conceptual thinker and go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings a strong point of view, and stays humble while championing bold creative ideas. This role is in Culver City, CA (8559 Higiera St., Culver City, CA); hybrid role!
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of original, conceptual social ideas that align with brand strategy and client goals
  • Communicate ideas and designs to senior members of the creative team
  • Partner with the Sr. Copywriter and Content Creator to bring campaigns from concept to execution
  • Translate briefs into compelling storytelling and visual narratives across social, digital, and emerging formats
  • Partner with Producers to plan photo/video shoots and manage production needs
  • Communicate proactively with team leads on timelines, blockers, and deliverables
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and listening abilities
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Maintain consistent creative quality and become a brand expert
  • Be a standard-bearer for our company culture and values
About You
  • Ability to work within brand style guides to produce work that is both original and on-brand
  • Build and maintain design systems, templates, and asset libraries for efficiency
  • Experience with both B2B and B2C marketing
  • Animation experience, and comfort working with and directing a motion designer
  • Expert in (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.)
  • Located in Los Angeles, CA, metro area
The essentials:
  • Strong conceptual portfolio demonstrating social media ideas, not just execution
  • 5-8+ years of conceptual art direction experience (in house or agency experience)
  • Step in to concept, write up, and execute ideas when additional support is needed
  • Expert experience in social media content and platforms
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and time-sensitive requests with multiple iterations
  • Ability to accept and receive constructive design feedback from senior members of the creative team
Not a must, but a plus:
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)
  • Animation skills (AfterEffects)

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of one of our office locations, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. The specific details, including the number of required office days, will be in accordance with the company's then-current RTO policy, which is subject to change from time to time.

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.

Salary Range: $90,000-$112,000 USD
