What You'll DoReporting to the Director for Design/University, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Evaluate course of action and make independent decisions on matters of significance within the scope of responsibilities, free from immediate direction.
- Develop architectural program statements and building programs for assigned capital projects.
- Evaluate proposals from consultants and participate in the selection process for assigned capital projects.
- Prepare and execute contracts for engaging professional consultant firms to develop and document assigned capital projects.
- Direct the activities of architects, engineers, interior designers, and other professionals retained for planning, programming and designing assigned capital complex projects. Conduct project meetings; responsible for project tracking and analysis.
- Develop and maintain the highest quality standards in architecture, while managing the design process for assigned capital projects.
- Advise clients and administrators and faculty on criteria for facility planning, building design, and construction.
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of graphics and narrative reports for assigned projects and make presentations of same.
- Review architectural and campus plans and make recommendations to assure compliance with regulatory agencies and University goals.
Required Qualifications*- Bachelor's degree in architecture. (Master's degree in architecture preferred.)
- State license to practice architecture.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing the execution of design efforts for complex projects.
- LEED Green Associate or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional BD+C credential.
- References supporting creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.
