The environment includes Azure IaaS resources, virtual machines, Azure Data Factory, data integration workflows, analytics pipelines, and supporting infrastructure services required to sustain enterprise risk management functions.

Success in this role requires advanced technical proficiency, strong operational engineering capabilities, cloud infrastructure expertise, and demonstrated ownership of business-critical enterprise applications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior engineer who can operate with minimal supervision, drive complex cross-functional issues to resolution, and own the technical health, security posture, and service performance of a critical business platform.

Responsibilities

  • Platform Ownership: Serve as the primary technical owner and senior escalation point for the QRM platform, accountable for application stability, operational performance, security posture, production service health, and overall platform reliability.
  • Application & Infrastructure Engineering: Design, develop, support, and optimize application components, Azure-hosted infrastructure, virtual machines, data integration workflows, and supporting platform services that enable Financial Risk Management capabilities.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead incident response, root cause analysis, vulnerability remediation, access reviews, change management, release coordination, disaster recovery readiness, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure platform reliability, compliance, and availability.
  • Cross-Functional & Vendor Leadership: Partner with business stakeholders, software vendors, infrastructure, network, security, and database teams to deliver enhancements, manage vendor escalations, resolve complex issues, and proactively address technical risks and dependencies.
  • Platform Strategy & Lifecycle Management: Own platform lifecycle activities including technical debt management, infrastructure modernization, upgrade planning, roadmap input, audit readiness, and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction, establish operational standards, mentor team members, contribute to engineering best practices, and communicate technical impact, risk, remediation plans, and platform status to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in application engineering, software development, or enterprise application support, delivering and maintaining production-grade solutions in complex environments.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience serving as a lead engineer, platform owner, technical owner, or senior support engineer for a business-critical enterprise application.
  • Experience supporting Azure-hosted enterprise applications and infrastructure, including Azure IaaS virtual machines, storage, networking, monitoring, security services, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory or similar enterprise data integration and orchestration platforms supporting data ingestion, transformation, scheduling, and operational monitoring.
  • Strong technical proficiency with SQL, .NET application ecosystems, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), scripting/automation, and enterprise application support practices.
  • Experience leading incident response, root cause analysis, vulnerability remediation, change management, release management, and production support activities for business-critical applications.
  • Experience managing vendor-supported enterprise applications, including support escalations, defect remediation, upgrade planning, and coordination across infrastructure, security, database, and business teams.
