About the role

We are seeking a talented Senior Application Developer to join our Government Business Solutions team. In this role you will focus on delivering applications for our customers, developing industry-leading applications running on D-Wave's advanced quantum systems.

This position will give you the opportunity to learn about D-Wave's application environment and work with internal teams and customers to build applications for market launch. This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading customers and cutting-edge quantum computing technology.

What you'll do

  • Develop algorithms to solve complex problems while building applications on the D-Wave quantum computer and internal tools
  • Implement and optimize the performance/own the code base, of Commercial quantum applications, primarily in Python
  • Build out custom applications to solve complex problems for customers or for market release
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects to achieve positive business value for customers
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and other team members to understand application requirements and design customized solutions
  • Become an expert, on a variety of our professional services offerings such as our cloud service (LEAP) and open-sourced software tools (Ocean)
  • Help to solve real-world, challenging problems that have a direct impact on our commercial customers business success


About You

  • 5+ years professional experience with Python. Knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and Networkx is a plus but not required
  • Minimum BSc in Computer Science or related technical field preferred. Masters or PhD a bonus.
  • Strong knowledge of probability, statistics and/or math
  • Experience with a version control software such as Git
  • Experience implementing complex algorithms
  • Experience building open-source applications to solve complex problems for customers or for market release
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated creativity in approaching new problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and passionate about writing state-of-the-art code
  • Proven experience working with federal agencies
  • Must currently have or be able to get a US Government Top Secret security clearance

The pay range for this role is:

124,000 - 186,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
