Required Education: High school diploma or GED.
Required Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience planning, developing, and delivering Appian interfaces, processes, data models, records, and integrated solutions.

Position Description

Ailani Wind Joint Venture is seeking a Senior Appian Lead Developer to lead the planning, design, development, configuration, integration, testing, delivery, and sustainment of Appian solutions supporting DAF missions. The lead establishes technical direction and ensures secure, maintainable, and user-centered delivery in IL5 and IL6 environments.
This position leads requirements refinement, architecture and design decisions, development standards, peer reviews, release readiness, defect resolution, and mentoring while remaining hands-on in Appian development.

Primary Responsibilities

Typical Responsibilities/Tasks:
• Serve as technical lead for Appian solution architecture, design, development, integration, testing, release, and sustainment.
• Lead requirements analysis, backlog refinement, estimation, technical planning, design reviews, and solution demonstrations.
• Design and build Appian Process Modeler workflows using Smart Services, gateways, subprocesses, exception handling, and reusable patterns.
• Design and develop responsive SAIL interfaces, forms, dashboards, reports, records, and reusable user-interface components.
• Design Appian Records and Data Fabric solutions, relational data models, CDTs, queries, and data-access patterns.
• Integrate Appian with MariaDB, Oracle, SQL-based data sources, JSON services, Web APIs, and Connected Systems.
• Implement CUI, PII, role-based and row-level security, auditability, and other DAF security and compliance requirements.
• Establish coding standards, reusable components, source-control practices, review checklists, test expectations, and release controls.
• Lead code reviews, performance optimization, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, UAT support, and defect resolution.
• Coordinate with product owners, users, data, cyber, infrastructure, and DevSecOps teams to deliver complete capabilities.
• Maintain architecture, design, interface, data, security, test, release, user, and sustainment documentation and mentor other developers.

Required Qualifications
• Advanced knowledge of Appian process design, Smart Services, gateways, subprocesses, exception handling, and reusable process patterns.
• Advanced SAIL development and UI/UX skills for interfaces, forms, reports, dashboards, and reusable components.
• Advanced knowledge of Appian Records, Data Fabric, relational databases, CDTs, queries, and data modeling.
• Experience integrating Appian through JSON, Web APIs, Connected Systems, and enterprise data sources.
• Knowledge of IL5/IL6 development, CUI/PII protection, role-based and row-level security, and DAF compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery, mentor developers, communicate with stakeholders, and deliver defect-free UAT outcomes.

Desired Qualifications
• Current Appian Senior Developer or Lead Developer certification.
• Experience leading Appian delivery in DAF, DoW, IL5, or IL6 environments.
• Experience with Agile delivery, automated testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and application lifecycle management.
• Experience establishing Appian centers of excellence, governance, reusable design systems, and performance standards.

Salary Range

$95K -132K
