About the RoleWe're looking for a
Senior Android Software Engineer to join a small, product-focused team building a consumer fintech mobile app. You'll have a meaningful impact on the product's direction and user experience, working closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality features at scale.
What You'll Do- Design, implement, and maintain a consumer-facing Android application used in production.
- Contribute to platform-level architecture and help scale core infrastructure.
- Solve problems pragmatically, balancing speed and quality in a fast-moving environment.
- Contribute to product design and direction decisions alongside cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate effectively with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers on the Android team.
What We're Looking For- 2+ years of professional experience building and shipping production Android apps.
- Strong Kotlin expertise with demonstrated use of Jetpack Compose and modern architecture patterns (MVVM or Clean Architecture).
- Experience building consumer-facing mobile applications (not solely B2B).
- Proficiency with Android testing strategies - unit, instrumentation, and UI tests.
- Experience integrating Firebase services including Authentication, Firestore/Realtime Database, and Cloud Messaging.
- Familiarity with backend data formats and APIs used in mobile apps: protobufs, REST, and gRPC.
- Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines for mobile app development.
- Demonstrated mentorship or technical leadership experience guiding junior engineers.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Background in fintech, personal finance, or consumer mobile apps is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits- Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 USD annually
