Senior Product Manager and Principal Product Manager (Multiple Positions) -Windows Client Core Team

The Windows Client Core Team develops and maintains foundational components of the Windows operating system. We own critical platform technologies that enable processor integration, power management, storage, networking, boot, and system infrastructure. Teams across Microsoft and the broader hardware ecosystem rely on our platform to deliver secure, performant, and reliable Windows experiences to millions of customers worldwide.

As a Senior and Principal Product Manager, you will help shape the future of Windows by driving innovations that improve performance, scalability, reliability, and support for emerging hardware technologies. You will work closely with engineers, OEMs, silicon partners, and cross-functional teams across Microsoft to define product strategy, drive platform investments, and influence the future direction of Windows.Our team collaborates directly with hardware vendors and industry partners to enable the latest processors and chipsets on Windows. We help bring new hardware capabilities to life while ensuring Windows continues to evolve across a diverse and rapidly changing ecosystem.

Responsibilities

As a Senior and Principal Product Manager on the Windows Client Core Team, you will:
  • Define and drive product vision, strategy, and roadmap investments for core Windows platform technologies.
  • Partner with engineering teams, OEMs, silicon vendors, and internal stakeholders to align priorities and deliver platform innovations.
  • Drive features from concept through planning, execution, and industry adoption.
  • Gather and synthesize customer, partner, and ecosystem feedback to inform product direction.
  • Remove obstacles, drive cross-team collaboration, and ensure successful delivery across complex initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for your feature areas, providing clarity, communication, and leadership across partner teams.
  • Influence the future of Windows by enabling next-generation hardware capabilities and platform experiences.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience driving strategy, roadmap planning, and delivery for complex platform, operating system, hardware, firmware, or infrastructure technologies.
  • Experience partnering with engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver highly technical products.
  • Experience collaborating with OEMs, silicon vendors, hardware manufacturers, or other industry partners.
  • Familiarity with operating systems, system architecture, firmware, hardware platforms, device drivers, or low-level software technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across organizations and drive alignment on complex technical initiatives.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
