Job Description:

Senior Analytics Engineer: Power BI | SQL | dbt - Revenue Operations & FP&A

Reports to: Director of Analytics Engineering & Data Insights

Level: Senior Individual Contributor / Lead

Function: Revenue Operations & FP&A Analytics

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to serve as a hands-on technical leader within our growing analytics engineering team. Reporting to the Director of Analytics Engineering & Data Insights, this role owns the design and development of our most complex semantic models, dashboards, and data transformations - while raising the bar on standards, performance, and trust across the analytics stack.

This is a builder's role with influence. You will personally develop production-grade Power BI and SQL in Snowflake & dbt. You'll also partner directly with RevOps and FP&A leaders to translate ambiguous business questions into reliable, reusable analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Development
  • Design, build, and optimize complex Power BI semantic models, advanced DAX measures, and executive-grade dashboards
  • Develop and tune dbt models and SQL transformations against Snowflake and other modern cloud data platforms
  • Own end-to-end data pipelines that consolidate CRM, ERP, product, and financial data into trusted, reusable layers
  • Diagnose and resolve performance, accuracy, and usability issues in existing reporting independently

Technical Leadership & Standards
  • Establish and enforce semantic modeling patterns, KPI definitions, naming conventions, and code review practices
  • Mentor mid-level and junior analytics team members through pairing, review, and documentation
  • Partner with the Director to shape the analytics architecture and reduce technical debt over time
  • Champion governance and data quality controls without slowing the team down

Business Partnership
  • Work directly with RevOps and FP&A stakeholders to define metrics, forecasting views, and performance frameworks
  • Translate evolving requirements into intuitive, high-quality visualizations leaders trust and use
  • Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences alike

Required Qualifications
  • 5-8+ years of hands-on experience in analytics engineering, BI, or data analytics
  • Advanced Power BI expertise: semantic modeling, advanced DAX, and executive dashboard design
  • Expert-level SQL and strong production experience with dbt
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Solid grasp of dimensional modeling and analytics platform design
  • Track record of building BI solutions directly - not solely managing others who build them
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to turn data into clear business insight

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and NetSuite as source systems
  • Knowledge of recurring revenue and subscription metrics (ARR, churn, retention, expansion)
  • Experience setting standards or mentoring within an analytics team
  • Background transitioning analytics capabilities from external partners to internal ownership
