  • Provide updates on indirect tax legislation to divisional controllers
  • Research and instruct on indirect tax issues and interact with tax authority auditors
  • Assist with ad hoc projects such as tax research and documentation
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned

Where You'll Add Value

The Senior Tax Analyst is accountable to the VP, Tax for the timely and accurate completion of various tax related tasks for the corporation. The Senior Tax Analyst will assist with income tax compliance, income tax provisions, CRA audits, tax research, and analytical support for the tax team. The successful candidate will work with business, finance, and other tax professionals in carrying out his or her responsibilities. Relies on strong analytical skills, attention to details, communication, and good time management skills.

How You'll Make a Difference

1. Annual Tax Filings
Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of various income tax returns and associated supporting schedules and analysis, including the relative complicated legal entities

2. Financial Reporting
Responsible for the preparation of quarterly tax provisions in order to meet the company and regulatory reporting requirements. Assist with the quarterly review and year-end audit process, including the relative complicated legal entities

3. Tax Schedules
Responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of tax schedules including current tax payable and deferred tax assets/liabilities

4. Indirect Tax

Provide timely indirect tax legislation updates to divisional controllers, research and provide instructions related to indirect tax issues to divisional controllers and interact with tax authority auditors

5. Other Corporate Tax/Accounting Duties
Assist ad hoc projects assigned, e.g., research of various tax topics, documentation of emerging tax related requirements or processes, preparation of tax models
