Raytheon Waterloo is seeking a Senior Analyst, Systems Engineering to be part of the team supporting legacy and Next Generation Airport Traffic Control (ATC) programs. As part of the Engineering team, this position is responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of system engineering activities within an integrated product/project team composed of customers, internal and subcontract members. The primary focus of this position is on system engineering related to design, development, integration, test and acceptance of new and existing technologies. This position will be responsible for applying specialized knowledge and expertise in preparing plans for the designs and specifications to meet specific operational requirements; participating in projects to procure and implement; and providing assistance for life cycle management of the systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manage system requirements for a given program – including development, validation, verification, and configuration management.
- Manage and/or generate systems engineering related documentation of legacy and newly developed products (specifications, schematics, Interface Control Documents, test requirements/plans, ongoing maintenance) in support of projects.
- Demonstrate technical leadership in engineering programs requiring coordination across multiple internal/external teams and/or disciplines
- Lead technical risk management - including identification, qualification, mitigation, and resolution
- Make informed technical decisions to drive project success and conduct various technical analyses (power budget, link budget, or similar) to support decision making process
- Perform trade studies and make recommendations with respect to insertion of new technologies to meet required capability advances.
- Planning, execution and documenting of formal qualification tests
- Perform job analysis to estimate engineering effort required for specific tasks and projects.
- Responsible for ensuring that systems engineering tasks are performed in accordance with Raytheon Canada Limited engineering policies and procedures.
- Support manufacturing for transition of products from development to production.
- Support business development regarding new system integration projects.
- Support existing programs to meet other customer requirements including conduct of technical investigations, integration development, and program review meetings.
- Support other engineering staff with system engineering related technical issues.
- Support growth of the division with regard to expanding assigned projects and seizing the opportunities for additional work through development initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Electrical, Computer, Systems Design, or equivalent.
- 2 or more years of experience in a systems engineering, integration or development environment.
- Experience with radar systems, Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems, RF communications and hardware and software integration programs would be an asset.
- Experience with Modeling and Simulation applications and architecture would be an asset.
- Experience as a system architect or project engineer would be an asset.
- Eligibility for professional registration with PEO (Professional Engineers of Ontario)
- Experience with IBM DOORS would be beneficial
- Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence preferred
- Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Able to travel globally to visit customer or supplier sites for short periods of times
This position is required to work onsite at our facility in Waterloo, Ontario.
The salary range for this role is 65,000 CAD - 107,800 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
