Job Description:Role OverviewWe are looking for a Senior Analyst, Supply Market Intelligence, to drive data-informed component sourcing and cost strategy for Fluence's battery energy storage system. This role blends market intelligence, procurement strategy, and analytical modeling, with a strong emphasis on qualitative insight generation to interpret complex and fast-moving supply markets. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Market Analytics within the Procurement team.
You will help translate raw market signals into actionable cost targets and sourcing strategies, directly influencing competitiveness in the energy storage sector.

Key Responsibilities- Market Intelligence and Price Analytics
- Gather and analyze market intelligence from primary and secondary sources
- Track and analyze raw material pricing using third party sources
- Build and maintain correlations between raw material indices and component-level pricing (e.g., battery cells, PCS, enclosures)
- Combine quantitative outputs with qualitative insights to explain trends, anticipate market movements, and provide actionable updates to the team
- Data Discovery, Cleaning & Organization
- Source, validate, and structure datasets from internal systems and external providers
- Maintain high-quality datasets covering raw materials, components, and supplier markets
- Cost Reduction & Opportunity Identification
- Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities across the supply chain
- Develop should-cost models and benchmarking frameworks to support supplier negotiations
- Commodity Strategy Development
- Advise on the design and execution of commodity strategies aligned with market dynamics and business needs
- Proactively monitor supplier landscapes, production trends, and geopolitical risks impacting cost and availability
- Develop forward-looking cost targets using:
- Internal transaction data (e.g., historical procurement data)
- Customer and project feedback
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and other teams to solve complex problems and ensure communication of key information
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for key workstreams
- Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including high-visibility projects with executive audience
- Exhibit strong leadership, diligence, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment
Required Experience & Qualifications - Educational background in engineering, finance, accounting, economics, or similar quantitative field
- Minimum Bachelor's degree + 4-6 years of experience or Associate's degree + 6-8 years of experience in market intelligence, market/data analysis, cost modeling/forecasting, procurement, or supply chain strategy
- Background in energy, battery systems, or industrial manufacturing preferred
- Familiarity with raw material indices and market intelligence platforms (e.g., S&P Global) preferred
- Understanding of battery supply chain cost drivers is a plus
Additional Skills- Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills to interpret ambiguous data and market narratives into actionable insights
- Experience building and maintaining analytical models for pricing, forecasting, or cost analysis
- Manufacturing inputs (labor, automation, yield)
- Strong Excel capabilities required, proficiency in PowerBI, R or Python preferred
- Experience presenting to and collaborating with executive and cross-functional stakeholders
