About this role:

Strategy and Corporate Development is a small, highly leveraged team that is at the forefront of exploring new growth opportunities for Gartner's diverse business units. This early career role is geared toward high-potential individuals that have recently completed an industry rotational or banking/consulting analyst program. The individual selected for this role will join a world class team that helps shape strategic decision making at Gartner.

What you'll do:

This role will support the Strategy and Corporate Development team as it helps senior executives better understand the quickly evolving business and competitive landscapes and identify inorganic (M&A) growth opportunities. The team's mandate includes covering developments in markets where Gartner participates, searching for new acquisition targets and business opportunities, project managing active M&A deals, supporting long range planning activities, and regularly presenting to senior audiences as subject matter experts on markets and competition.

The role will include:
  • Partnering with the MVP of Corporate Strategy and Director of Corporate Development to support Gartner's inorganic growth initiatives
  • Supporting all phases of the M&A process, including target sourcing, development of the strategic rationales and business cases, due diligence / data room management, negotiation of deal terms, deal structuring and execution, and integration / separation activities.
  • Coordinating across internal teams and external advisors throughout the M&A deal cycle and various other project management efforts
  • Partnering with internal BUs to understand operations, performance, strategy, market dynamics, and business needs
  • Research and analysis of developments in the information services marketplace as well as broader technology trends like Artificial Intelligence
  • Structuring and analyzing ambiguous strategic problems, and manage processes for strategic decision making as pertains to competition in the marketplace
  • Supporting preparation and delivery of presentation materials for senior management as part of cross-functional project teams
  • Building a network of contacts and relationships throughout the organization
  • Developing ad-hoc analyses and support other corporate initiatives as needed
  • Helping grow and develop the strategy, structure, and execution of Gartner's Finance Rotational Development Program by managing day-to-day activities


This role will be based at our Stamford, Connecticut headquarters.

What you'll need:
  • 2-3 years of work experience in a high-performance environment such as a corporate finance rotational program or early-career roles in investment banking, strategy consulting, equity analysis, etc.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, business, economics, statistics, or related field
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and interest in business
  • Ability to solve complex and ambiguous problems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to synthesize both qualitative and quantitative inputs in business decisions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, including the ability to build relationships with, collaborate, and influence associates across all levels of the company
  • Must be a fast learner and comfortable managing unexpected change
  • Willingness to embrace best practices and feedback as a means of continuous improvement
  • High standards and a commitment to excellence with high attention to detail
  • High level of integrity
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint as well as experience with generative AI tools like ChatGPT or NotebookLM

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 72,000 USD - 100,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
