Job Overview

Hubbell is seeking an experienced risk management professional to play a key role in the management of the Company's global risk and insurance programs. This position reports to the Senior Director of Risk Management and is responsible for identifying and evaluating risk exposures, insurance program administration, claims management, and supporting captive insurance operations. The successful candidate will identify opportunities to improve risk outcomes, drive process enhancements, and influence business decisions through data-driven risk analysis and recommendations.

A Day In The Life

  • Identify and analyze insurable risks across Hubbell and evaluate and recommend risk transfer and insurance structures to mitigate the risk.
  • Manage administration of global insurance programs and execute strategy to renew global property, casualty, D&O, Cyber, and other global insurance policies. Lead renewal and administration of standalone insurance policies.
  • Direct enterprise-wide risk exposure data collection, validate assumptions, challenge data quality, and provide analysis supporting insurance purchasing and risk financing decisions.
  • Ensure accuracy of renewal applications and submissions. Analyze renewal quotes and summarize recommendations for management review.
  • Ensure accuracy of insurance binders, policies, endorsements, and schedules of insurance and coverage summaries.
  • Perform risk and insurance due diligence support to assess M&A transactional risk exposures, coverage gaps and financial impact, and develop integration recommendations and implement approved integration plan.
  • Ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting of insurance costs and develop budget and cost allocation.
  • Support captive insurance operations, evaluate funding adequacy, review actuarial reports and recommend reserve adjustment.
  • Manage claims management process. Report assigned liability, employment, workers comp, automobile, property, and cargo claims. Coordinate with Legal Department and insurers regarding claim resolution. Evaluate coverage letters and insurance recovery and settlement recommendations.
  • Review and approve insurance and risk transfer provisions within customer, vendor and other commercial agreements, exercising judgement regarding risk acceptance and exceptions to vendor insurance matrix.
  • Lead property risk engineering initiatives, prioritize mitigation efforts based on exposure analysis, and influence site leadership to implement loss control recommendations to reduce risk and strengthen asset protection.
  • Oversee insurance invoice management, premium payments, and reconciliation of insurance costs. Manage monopolistic States WC matters.
  • Leverage and maintain risk management information systems (RMIS) and develop risk dashboards and loss trend analysis, identify risks and provide recommendations to mitigate risk. Manage relationship with RMIS service providers.
  • Provide risk and insurance guidance for new projects and initiatives, coverage requests, COI issues, surety bonds, and other internal business requirements. Assess changes in exposures, review policy terms and exclusions, and secure appropriate coverage through brokers & insurers.
  • Identify and recommend enterprise-wide risk management improvements including process improvements and automation.
  • Perform other risk management and insurance duties, as assigned.
