Job Purpose
To provide research, financial analysis, and business case modeling in support of the development of regulatory strategy, energy policy, and growth initiatives. To collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to assess industry developments, identify core issues and their strategic implications, develop internal briefings to drive alignment on recommended courses of action, and support pertinent external communications.
Key Accountabilities
• Keep internal stakeholders up to date on regulatory developments and industry best practices related to performance-based ratemaking, cost recovery mechanisms, cost of capital and enablers of electric and gas system modernization.
• Research and analyze different ratemaking approaches and how they would impact cost recovery, revenue timing and earnings.
• Prepare cost of capital, capital structure, regulatory return and other ad hoc analyses in support of rate filings and to facilitate business decision making.
• Distil complex information into clear and concise insights for senior leadership (e.g., presentations, memos, reports) and external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory testimony and other filings) to advance energy policies, regulatory proposals and business development efforts.
• Manage and coordinate external engagements related to cost of capital and cost recovery frameworks.
• Liaison with Finance and Treasury teams to ensure alignment on financial reporting and regulatory strategy.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree; MBA or graduate degree preferred
• Minimum of 3 years in utility industry strategy, regulation, or finance roles (or equivalent)
• Good understanding of utility regulation, rate design, and financial modelling
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills with an ability to identify key issues and recommend solutions to complex problems using data, logic and financial insight.
• Strong communication and presentation development skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex issues and data to senior management and stakeholders.

$105k - $123k a year in Boston, MA or Waltham, MA
$112k - $130k a year in Brooklyn, NY
