About the Role

The Senior Analyst, IT Quality role is the designated IT system owner for all Quality-related applications supporting PowerCo Canada's battery cell manufacturing operations. This role ensures the stability, integration, compliance, support and continuous improvement of digital Quality platforms across laboratory, inspection, traceability and quality data analytics.

The position collaborates with Quality, Production, Digitalization, and global PowerCo IT teams in Germany and Spain focused on application lifecycle management, IT governance, cybersecurity compliance, data flows, support and vendor coordination, ensuring the operation of the quality ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Ownership & Lifecycle Management: Serve as IT system owner for all Quality applications (LIMS, PLM-CAQ, APIS IQ, QES, SPC, Test Center, etc). Oversee configuration governance, upgrades, vendor releases, patch scheduling, backup/restore processes, and application documentation. Ensure system availability and performance according to operational requirements and Quality KPIs.
  • Business Engagement & Digital Requirements Definition (Quality Function): Act as the primary IT interface for the Quality department, Laboratory teams, metrology, production quality, and global Quality stakeholders. Translate Quality process needs into IT requirements (data models, workflows, access policies, reporting structures). Support the business in evaluating new digital capabilities for inspection, testing, sampling, traceability, and issue management.
  • Integration Architecture & Data Governance (Quality Data Flows): Define and maintain secure integrations between Quality systems and enterprise platforms, including: MES - Manufacturing Execution
  • System (AVEVA), ERP - SAP S/4HANA, PLM - Siemens Teamcenter (CAQ, IE), EDP - Enterprise Data Platform (Azure). Ensure correct and secure data flows for inspection results, laboratory data, defects, SPC data, digital work instructions, and traceability.
  • IT Governance, Security & Compliance (Quality Applications): Ensure all Quality systems comply with PowerCo cybersecurity standards (IAM, network segmentation, secure communication protocols, encryption). Coordinate periodic access reviews, risk assessments, security hardening, and audit readiness (especially for compliance or regulatory expectations). Maintain architectural diagrams, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), configuration repositories, and validation documentation (CSV - Computer System Validation, where applicable).
  • Support Model Development & Operations: Establish and maintain the support model across Tier 1 (Service Desk), Tier 2 (IT Apps/Infra), Tier 3 (Vendors). Develop SLAs (Service Level Agreements), OLAs (Operating Level Agreements), runbooks, incident workflows, and monitoring dashboards.
  • Project Delivery, Rollouts & Change Management: Support or lead implementation projects for Quality-related systems (LIMS, PLM-CAQ, QES, APIS IQ, traceability platforms). Manage project documentation, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), cutover planning, hypercare, and stabilization phases. Execute change management activities following ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) methodologies.
  • Continuous Improvement & Digital Enhancement: Identify opportunities to enhance Quality data availability, analytics, dashboarding, and workflow automation. Support adoption of predictive Quality capabilities (SPC, ML analytics via Enterprise Data Platform/ Azure). Ensure alignment with global PowerCo Quality IT architectures and digital strategy. Advocate for continuous improvement in digital inspection processes, traceability systems, and laboratory workflows.


What you bring to the Team
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
    7-10 years of experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certificate an asset.
  • Strong expertise in administering and supporting enterprise Quality applications, including LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems), PLM CAQ (Computer Aided Quality), APIS IQ (FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)/DRBFM (Design Review Based on Failure Mode)/Risk Analysis), Quality Execution Systems (QES), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) platforms.
  • Solid understanding of core Quality processes: sampling, inspection, deviation management, defect classification, non conformance workflows, traceability/genealogy, laboratory workflows, and quality data governance.
  • Ability to translate Quality business processes into IT requirements, workflows, access structures, user roles, and reporting needs.
  • Knowledge of integration concepts such as APIs, ETL, data models, event streaming, and interfaces with MES, ERP, PLM, and Enterprise Data Platforms.
  • Familiarity with OT/IT communication protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus/TCP) and laboratory/measurement data flows.
  • Strong grounding in IT governance, cybersecurity principles, and compliance expectations (IAM, encryption, segmentation, audit readiness).
  • Skilled in incident, problem, and change management, including root cause analysis, documentation, and adherence to ITIL practices.
  • Ability to design and operate Tier 1-3 support models, including SLAs, OLAs, runbooks, system monitoring, and knowledge articles.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills across Quality, Production, Engineering, and global IT teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in high paced industrial environments with critical manufacturing timelines.
