The Team:

Credit Ratings is an integral part of the Global Ratings Services team,comprisinga diverse group of 1,400 analysts spread across key financial hubs worldwide. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality insights and exceptional client service across all industry sectors. 

TheInfrastructure & Project Financepractice provides credit analysis on essential, long-lived assets and ring-fenced project financingsassessing contractual frameworks, demand and operating risks, sponsor strength, financial flexibility, and resilience under stress. The teams work supports capital formation for critical infrastructure and helps the market understand fast-evolving subsectors such asdata centres and digital infrastructure.

The North America Infrastructure Project Finance Ratings team provides independent credit analysis and ratings on a growing portfolio of essential infrastructure projects across the U.S. and Canada, including transportation, power, and social infrastructure. The teams coverage spans a broad range of project finance structures, including PPP/availability-based,contracted-revenue frameworks, and demand-risk assets. Supported by a strong pipeline of new issuance and refinancing activity, the team deliverstimely, high-quality analytical execution and contributes to S&P Global Ratings high-profileInfrastructuresector coverage through rigorous credit assessment, clear rating rationale, and ongoing surveillance.

Responsibilities:

Team Contribution & Capability Building

  • Provide day-to-day guidance/coaching to Research Assistants and Rating Analysts, building capability in credit, data discipline, and tooling and reinforcing values-ledbehaviors.

  • Drive consistency/scalability by codifying standard work and promoting disciplined adoption to strengthen trusted, repeatable insights.

  • Strengthen AI-enabled productivity by creating reusable assets and proposing lightweight automationsthatfree capacity for human analysis and relationship work.

  • Foster continuous improvement by proposing enhancements that remove manual steps without compromising governance or judgement.

  • Partner with senior team members and Data/Engineering toidentifyand scale AI/automation use cases with governance-by-design, controls, and adoption support.

Core Analytical & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end execution for assigned credits, ensuring high-quality analysis andtimelydelivery across priorities with clear accountability.

  • Own surveillance/updates for assigned portfolio,synthesizingperformance, market signals, and peer context into decision-useful insights and clear implications for risk.

  • Supporting LLM tools/automation being embedded to accelerate workflows, followed by structured validation and refinement using analytical judgement tomaintaintrusted conclusions.

  • Operate alongside AI agents in recurring workflows.

  • Prepare/review inputs, reconcile metrics, document assumptions/changes to ensure adherence to methodologies/standard operating procedures.

  • Prepare/review key outputs ensuring clarity and alignment tomethodology/sector frameworks and evidentiary standards.

  • Support maintenance/review of models to ensure robustness and repeatability and clear linkage to risk views.

Stakeholder & Market Engagement

  • Engage with external parties alongside senior team members.

  • Crafts client and executive-ready stories that translate complex data, analysis, and research into a clear narrative.Advising onissues within clear parameters,integratingand communicating complex information to convey S&Ps analyticalexpertiseand drive engagement with market participants.

  • Building trusted stakeholder relationships through emotionally intelligent,collaborativeand adaptable delivery.

Risk Management and Operating

  • Ensure adherence tomethodology/confidentiality/data governance; escalate issues early with options/recommendations to protect integrity and trust.

  • Embed responsible, governed AI use: approved tools/data only; protect confidential info.

  • Drive controlled automation/agentic workflows by contributing to design requirements/controls, supporting testing/rollout, and training others.A

  • Supports decisions relating to guardrails for automation: defining what can be automated vs must remain human-led (especially material risk calls and committee conclusions).

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates:)S&P Globalstatesthat theanticipatedbase salary range for this position is $110,000 USD to $153,000 USD. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individuals geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
