The Team
The Credit Estimates team is a close-knit group of analysts primarily based in Toronto and New York, with additional team members across Europe and Asia. The team serves the middle-market Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) constituency and other leveraged loan issuers, operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment with seamless communication across global groups. Interactions are largely internal, with select opportunities to engage directly with CLO managers on Credit Estimate rationale and methodology. This team offers one of the most hands-on learning environments for credit analysis within S&P Global Ratings.

The Impact and Responsibilities
This role delivers high-quality Credit Estimates used across S&P Global Ratings to inform CLO ratings and client decision-making. The Senior Analyst in this role will influence internal ratings outcomes and support market participants' access to capital.
Manage and review Credit Estimates for multiple CLO transactions, ensuring analytical rigor and consistency with S&P Global Ratings criteria.
Engage with clients on criteria and methodology, including explaining Credit Estimate rationale to CLO managers, and support client outreach and credit research initiatives.
Partner with Leveraged Finance and Sector teams to identify and incorporate emerging Private Credit trends into analysis.
Review and validate financial models, written analyses, and company evaluations prepared by Research Assistants and Rating Analysts.
Deliver detailed financial analysis and recommendations to support ratings and research projects.
Mentor, train, and develop junior analysts and research assistants, providing constructive feedback and technical coaching.
Compensation and Benefits Information (US Candidates): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $92,000 to $127,000 USD. Final base salary will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. What We're Looking For
Basic Required Qualifications
Demonstrated experience managing and reviewing credit estimates or credit opinions for CLO or leveraged loan portfolios.
Strong financial statement analysis skills, with a solid understanding of accounting concepts and S&P Global Ratings criteria, including Corporate Methodology.
Proven ability to mentor and develop junior talent, with strong written and oral communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency with financial models and the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred or Helpful Experience
Prior experience working directly with CLO managers or in private credit investor relations.
Experience contributing to credit research publications or client outreach programs.
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
Additional Information
An S&P Global employee at this level would typically havethree yearsof relevant work experience.
Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent required. A masters degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued. We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking.
Employeesare required towork from the office a minimum of two days per week.
