Location - San Diego, CA. This is an on-site/in-person role.

Summary/Objective

This role is for someone with a finance background who enjoys operating beyond the traditional boundaries of a finance role. Beta Bionics is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The perfect candidate is the kind of person who is excited to take on whatever the business needs to win. While the role is expected to focus on Corporate Development, Investor Relations, and Clinical Trials, its scope will likely evolve over time based on the needs and priorities of the business.

The Senior Analyst will support the Corporate Development and Investor Relations functions while also contributing to Clinical Operations initiatives that intersect with strategic and financial priorities. This is a cross-functional role suited to an individual who can leverage financial, commercial, and clinical analysis to support M&A and strategic partnership initiatives, develop and communicate investor-facing narratives, and identify and execute on opportunities for business growth with a particular emphasis on clinical trials that shape the future of the company. This is a highly visible role, both internally and externally, reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Development and Investor Relations, collaborating frequently with C-level executives, and engaging with the capital markets.

Corporate Development
  • Support evaluation of potential partnerships, licensing deals, and M&A opportunities, including market research, financial modeling, and due diligence
  • Identify opportunities for corporate growth both commercially and clinically, and build business cases and valuation analyses to support strategic business initiatives
  • Learn and monitor the diabetes technology and therapeutics landscape, including industry trends, competitor activity, and the M&A landscape

Investor Relations
  • Support preparation of earnings materials, investor presentations and events, and quarterly reports
  • Monitor sell-side analyst models, consensus estimates, and peer/competitor performance
  • Participate in sell-side analyst and investor meetings and conferences (some travel required)
  • Maintain investor website content, shareholder databases, and distribution lists

Clinical Strategy & Operations
  • Partner with the Clinical Operations team to execute on key business growth initiatives that require early and/or late-stage clinical trials
  • Support the development of key partnerships with clinical research institutions and clinical research vendors to initiate and execute clinical trials in an efficient manner
  • Support financial and resource planning for clinical trial budgets

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in equity research, corporate development, M&A consulting/advisory, public equities investing, investment banking, or a related analytical role (life sciences experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate financial, commercial, and clinical concepts into clear and concise messages for internal stakeholders and capital markets audiences
  • High attention to detail and ability to absorb new information and manage multiple workstreams under deadline pressure
  • Ability to work onsite at the San Diego, CA office five days per week

Preferred Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience in diabetes technology, medical device, biotechnology, or broader healthcare/life sciences sector
  • Prior exposure to M&A due diligence or licensing transactions
  • Familiarity with clinical trial processes, terminology, and regulatory milestones
  • CFA progress or MBA a plus, not required

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, and scanners.

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to be independently mobile. The employee is also required to interact with a computer, and communicate with co-workers.
  • This position requires travel for investor meetings, sell-side conferences, and industry conference. The employee will be expected to travel 1-2 times per quarter.
