The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Senior Analyst of Business Systems reporting to the Lead of Travel Services Data Analytics.

This position works on-site in Miramar, Florida.

Position Summary:

The Global Travel Services Data Analytics team is responsible for all data, tools, reporting, and information needs for the Air business. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead development and support of the team's Databricks, Oracle and SQL Server processes and reporting in Power BI. This person serves as a department point person, a Subject Matter Expert regarding the reports and data processes for end users in Air strategy, operations, finance, and revenue teams. This position develops new coding projects, reports, and improvements in database administration and serves as lead conduit with the IT department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead development, implementation and support of Air systems, Business Intelligence reporting and user tools.
  • Drive new development, efficiency improvements, and technical improvements to our SQL and PL/SQL, jobs and systems.
  • Collaborate with strategic and technical initiatives, determining user requirements and business needs to develop new reporting, while incorporating understanding of the business and our current systems.
  • Think creatively and holistically to not only meet business objectives, but also to gain additional benefits in job and system enhancements.
  • Work closely with Revenue Management, Finance, GTS Operations, and other business teams to understand their business challenges and objectives and identify opportunities to develop potential business improvements, revenue opportunities and efficiency gains.
  • Initiate projects to leverage these opportunities, driving the development, implementation and support of such projects, from requirements gathering, to development strategy, testing and implementation.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data and analysis needs while supporting various projects.
  • Conduct analyses of business data, evaluate trends and pattern changes, and learn to disperse results in a format appropriate for the audience.
  • Create new queries to develop data and reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure datasets and reporting provides relevant, actionable related information in the most effective format and medium.
  • Continuously search for potential business improvements, revenue opportunity and efficiency gains.
  • Own production tools, processes, and reports and serve as department and company Subject Matter Expert for those tools and reports.
  • Serve as IT liaison, working with Databricks, Oracle, DB2 administrators to provide support for our jobs, projects and continuing business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Master's degree in MIS, Information Technology, or Business is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required (in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field).
  • 3+ years of work experience in travel-related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Strong systems, quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement applications using a programming language, and coding in SQL, PL/SQL, and Python.
  • Previous experience in successfully implementing system enhancements and decision-making tools preferred.
  • Databricks experience is required. Development in SQL Server and Oracle are desired.
  • A facility in picking up new languages or platforms and leveraging them to improve or develop reports or processes.
  • Ability to interpret analytical results into meaningful business terms and translate business needs to programming and data modeling.
  • Able to quickly grasp requirements and deliver creative, descriptive and informative reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
  • The ability to validate system applications and data, and ensure tools and reports are accurate.
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and work, tenacity in following through on details and exploring remaining implications.
  • Confident and clear communicator with the ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to business and technical audiences in both spoken and written formats.
  • Experience in creating, supporting and interpreting reporting using Business Intelligence tools (Power BI experience is a must).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Approachable and adaptable to changes in responsibilities and environment.
