Description:The Senior Analyst : Is a data expert, a critical thinker and creative critical thinking problem-solver and is a motivated, self-learner, solution finder and a team player. Has a lead role, with the MCA team, in performance monitoring and reporting including leading provincial analysis and site-based analysis; leading responses to data requests for quality improvement and strategic planning. The SA liaises with stakeholders to determine data needs, and communicate limitations; establishing, reporting and interpreting metrics; and identifying areas for improvement. Has a relevant understanding of the MCA provincial program and the delivery of inpatient services to inform and recommend data-related activities to meet the goal of improved access and quality of care for medicine patients. Is grounded in promoting and improving patient safety, person-centred care, and health service quality. Will solve or help others to solve complex problems; take a broad lens to identify, initiate and lead innovative solutions; ensure self-accountability to consult with other data experts to solve complex problems and ensures transparency by escalating to MCA Leadership as required. Leads with a creative and innovative approach to modify current or develop new practices/processes to improve efficiencies in data management and quality. Builds relationships to achieve results. Uses advanced communication, facilitation and negotiation skills and synthesizes, analyzes and presents data to various audiences, tailoring the communication to the audience, uses business and process system-level knowledge to apply data and analytical tools in a meaningful way. Is future focused and engages in innovation opportunities (predictive analytics) by leading, and leveraging teams such as Information Technology, Data and Analytics, Connect Care, etc.

Required Qualifications: Has a Master's degree in a data and analytics related field (e.g., health economics, mathematics, statistics, health sciences, epidemiology, etc.) and five (5) years of applicable experienceOra Bachelor's degree in a health-related field and eight (8) years of applicable experience. A combination of qualifications and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications: Advanced data analysis, interpretation, and reporting, including data abstraction, validation, and quality assurance. Strong basic statistical skills and ability to develop, track, and interpret KPIs. Knowledge of the provincial trauma system and ability to apply system-level understanding to data insights. Skilled at identifying data limitations and proposing solutions. High proficiency with Microsoft Office. Strong critical thinking, creative problem solving, and sound judgment in ambiguous situations. Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability. Experience supervising and coaching staff, supporting development, and managing team deliverables. Strong planning, prioritization, and workload-management skills. Ability to lead change initiatives and conduct environmental scans for best practices. Skilled in improving processes to enhance efficiency and data quality. Excellent written and interpersonal communication, with ability to tailor data presentations to diverse audiences. Strong relationship-building skills with internal, external, and clinical partners.
Preferred Qualifications: Extensive knowledge and understanding of the inpatient environment in Alberta.Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS), Alberta Improvement Way (AIW), PROSCI ADKAR®, or equivalent Lean and Six Sigma certification considered assets.
