Full Job Description
CK is seeking an experienced Senior Air Quality Consultant to join our growing team in The Woodlands, Texas. In this role, you'll lead complex permitting and compliance projects for industrial clients while serving as a trusted technical advisor and project manager. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside highly respected technical professionals in an employee-owned firm that values collaboration, technical excellence, and long-term client relationships.

Whether your expertise is in refineries, petrochemical facilities, natural gas, manufacturing, or other industrial operations, we're looking for someone who enjoys solving challenging environmental problems and helping clients navigate complex regulations.

What You'll Do
  • Lead air quality permitting and compliance projects from proposal through completion.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, invoicing, and overall project performance.
  • Prepare and review complex permitting applications, compliance reports, technical memoranda, and regulatory correspondence.
  • Provide technical expertise on:
  • New Source Review (NSR)
  • Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD)
  • Nonattainment NSR (NNSR)
  • New Source Performance Standards (NSPS)
  • Emissions inventories
  • Federal and Texas air quality regulations
  • Develop emissions calculations and evaluate air pollution control technologies.
  • Build strong relationships with clients by serving as a trusted environmental advisor.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, including TCEQ and EPA.
  • Mentor junior consultants through technical review, project guidance, and professional development.
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities with existing clients, preparing proposals, and participating in client meetings.
  • Stay engaged with industry developments through organizations such as A&WMA and TCEQ workgroups.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of environmental consulting experience focused on air quality.
  • Proven success managing complex permitting and compliance projects.
  • Strong experience with:
  • NSR
  • PSD
  • NNSR
  • NSPS
  • Title V permitting and compliance
  • Air emissions inventories
  • Emissions calculations
  • Experience supporting industrial clients in refining, petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, natural gas, power generation, or other industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Texas air permitting regulations, including PBRs and standard permits.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring technical staff.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required.

Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to meet all Drug & Alcohol, Health & Safety, and Security requirements, including eligibility to access industrial facilities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and project work.
