OverviewPurpose
The Senior AI Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting scalable AI-enabled software solutions, cloud-native applications, agentic AI systems, and data platforms within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. This role partners with business, product, analytics, consulting, and security teams to deliver secure, reliable, and production-ready technology solutions that support healthcare and highly regulated environments.
Responsibilities
Work Performed and Job Requirements
- Solution Design and Engineering
- Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable AI-enabled applications, agentic systems, APIs, and data solutions.
- Translate business and client requirements into secure, production-ready technical solutions.
- Develop cloud, data engineering, and AI/ML solutions using Azure, Databricks, and related technologies.
- Build and integrate AI-enabled capabilities including generative AI, predictive analytics, automation, and NLP solutions.
- Apply modern software engineering practices including automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
- Support solution optimization, troubleshooting, scalability, and operational performance improvement.
- Security and Compliance
- Design and support secure, scalable, and compliant solutions that protect healthcare and other sensitive data.
- Apply healthcare privacy, security, governance, and compliance standards throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Support platform reliability, monitoring, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with product owners, consultants, data engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions.
- Contribute to technical standards, architecture discussions, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging AI, cloud, healthcare data, and software engineering trends.
- Support a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Training
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, information systems, or related field required. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Master’s degree and relevant cloud, data engineering, or AI/ML certifications preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience required, including experience designing and deploying cloud-based solutions within Microsoft Azure environments. Experience developing AI-enabled applications, data engineering solutions, and cloud-native technologies required. Experience working with healthcare data, HIPAA-regulated environments, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong software engineering and application development skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud architecture, and scalable data engineering practices.
- Understanding of AI/ML solution development, deployment, and operationalization concepts.
- Strong knowledge of agentic systems and multi-agent frameworks.
- Knowledge of healthcare privacy, security, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Ability to design and support secure, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
