Overview

Purpose

The Senior AI Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting scalable AI-enabled software solutions, cloud-native applications, agentic AI systems, and data platforms within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. This role partners with business, product, analytics, consulting, and security teams to deliver secure, reliable, and production-ready technology solutions that support healthcare and highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Work Performed and Job Requirements

  • Solution Design and Engineering
    • Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable AI-enabled applications, agentic systems, APIs, and data solutions.
    • Translate business and client requirements into secure, production-ready technical solutions.
    • Develop cloud, data engineering, and AI/ML solutions using Azure, Databricks, and related technologies.
    • Build and integrate AI-enabled capabilities including generative AI, predictive analytics, automation, and NLP solutions.
    • Apply modern software engineering practices including automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
    • Support solution optimization, troubleshooting, scalability, and operational performance improvement.
  • Security and Compliance
    • Design and support secure, scalable, and compliant solutions that protect healthcare and other sensitive data.
    • Apply healthcare privacy, security, governance, and compliance standards throughout the solution lifecycle.
    • Support platform reliability, monitoring, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
    • Collaborate with product owners, consultants, data engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions.
    • Contribute to technical standards, architecture discussions, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education & Training

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, information systems, or related field required. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Master’s degree and relevant cloud, data engineering, or AI/ML certifications preferred.

 

Experience

Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience required, including experience designing and deploying cloud-based solutions within Microsoft Azure environments. Experience developing AI-enabled applications, data engineering solutions, and cloud-native technologies required. Experience working with healthcare data, HIPAA-regulated environments, or other highly regulated industries preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong software engineering and application development skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud architecture, and scalable data engineering practices.
  • Understanding of AI/ML solution development, deployment, and operationalization concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of agentic systems and multi-agent frameworks.
  • Knowledge of healthcare privacy, security, compliance, and governance requirements.
