We are seeking a highly innovative and technically exceptional Senior AI Scientist to join our Biometric Innovation Team. This role will focus on the research, development, optimization, and deployment of advanced AI and machine learning models that power next-generation biometric solutions.

The ideal candidate will combine expertise in deep learning, computer vision, biometric recognition, and AI model lifecycle management to develop innovative technologies for biometric recognition, matching, presentation attack detection (PAD), contactless biometrics, biometric quality assessment, and emerging identity verification applications.

As our Senior AI Scientist, you'll support HID's success by:

• Designing, developing, training, evaluating, and optimizing state-of-the-art AI and deep learning models for biometric applications.
• Developing image processing, video analytics, biometric signal processing, feature extraction, and model evaluation pipelines.
• Applying data engineering, data quality, and data governance practices throughout the AI lifecycle.
• Building advanced computer vision pipelines utilizing visible spectrum, infrared, multispectral, and emerging image modalities.
• Implementing identity verification and enrollment workflows while creating benchmarking frameworks and performance evaluation methodologies.
• Managing end-to-end model development lifecycles from research through deployment and optimizing models for edge devices, embedded systems, and cloud environments.
• Driving AI explainability and transparency initiatives while implementing MLOps practices, including model monitoring, validation, retraining, and performance tracking.
• Ensuring models meet internal standards for fairness, privacy, security, and ethical biometric deployment.
• Investigating novel AI architectures and emerging technologies to improve biometric performance, security, fairness, and scalability.
• Evaluating innovations in generative AI, synthetic biometric data generation, and self-supervised learning.
• Partnering with compliance and product teams to align with emerging regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborating with universities, external partners, and third-party providers to support innovation and technology advancement while publishing technical findings, patents, and thought leadership where appropriate.

Your Experience and Background include:

• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Signal Processing, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of industry, research, or postdoctoral experience in developing and deploying AI models to production environments.
• Strong experience with Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, Scikit-learn, AWS and SageMaker and experience with cloud-based AI environments.
• Deep technical expertise in CNNs, Transformers, Vision Transformers, Attention networks, Generative AI models, multimodal, foundation model learning / fine-tuning and evolving AI methods and Hybrid techniques
• Strong expertise in image processing, video analytics, optical flow, temporal modeling, image quality analysis, face matching, biometric recognition, PAD, and liveness detection
• Experience extracting and processing signals from RGB, NIR, IR, thermal, structured-light, depth, polarization, and multispectral sensing systems is preferred.
• Experience supporting face, fingerprint, iris, palm, and multimodal biometric solutions.
• Knowledge of biometric sensors and image quality assessment methodologies is preferred.
• Experience with MLOps, software engineering, data engineering, and responsible AI governance is preferred.
• Knowledge of biometric standards, compliance requirements, and benchmarking methodologies is preferred.
