Full Job Description
Job Description

In this position...

In this role, you will play a key part in modernizing and automating FCSD's supply chain and procurement ecosystem. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

We are seeking an experienced and mathematically rigorous Senior AI Engineer to join the FCSD Supply Chain analytics team. In this internal role, you will design, build, and deploy robust data pipelines, scalable machine learning models, and advanced AI/analytical solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to optimize FCSD supply chain operations and procurement strategies.

You will combine a deep operational understanding of FCSD supply chain processes and datasets with advanced quantitative modeling to translate complex automotive parts, procurement, and logistics data into actionable insights and interactive decision tools using SQL, Python, and the Microsoft Power Platform.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...
  • Building a Global GCP Pipeline: Architect, construct, and scale end-to-end data pipelines in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to ingest, process, and unify global FCSD supply chain and procurement datasets into reliable, single-source-of-truth analytical models.
  • Automating Manual Tasks: Identify and automate repetitive operational and data workflows across supply chain and procurement functions, streamlining business processes and reducing operational overhead through scripting and low-code solutions.
  • Creating AI Agents & Assistants: Design and implement custom AI agents and conversational assistants (leveraging GenAI, LLMs, and GCP Vertex AI capabilities) to support FCSD decision-makers, answer complex operational queries, and automate contextual business tasks.
  • Predictive Analytics on Key KPIs: Apply advanced mathematical modeling, machine learning, and time-series forecasting to predict and optimize critical business metrics-such as parts availability, lead times, fill rates, inventory carrying costs, and procurement spend.
  • Creating Interactive Tools in Power BI: Build rich, interactive executive dashboards, analytical reports, and decision-support tools using Power BI (and the broader Microsoft Power Platform) to empower leadership and operational teams with real-time, actionable insights.
  • Develop, evaluate, and operationalize AI solutions, statistical models, machine learning, and optimization algorithms targeting FCSD supply chain challenges.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of FCSD operational datasets (e.g., parts catalogs, procurement/purchasing data, dealer order fulfillment, logistics tracking, and warehouse management data) to build single-source-of-truth analytics tables.
  • Design, construct, and maintain scalable, efficient ETL/ELT pipelines in GCP using services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Composer.
  • Build low-code workflows and applications using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Partner closely with FCSD supply chain planners, procurement teams, data engineers, and leadership to turn complex operational problems into scalable AI and analytical capabilities.

Qualifications

You'll have...

Minimum
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade Python and advanced SQL.
  • Domain Expertise: Solid understanding of Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) supply chain and procurement processes, operational workflows, and underlying datasets.
  • Cloud Architecture: Hands-on experience developing global data pipelines, AI models, and analytical workloads on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow,).
  • Power Platform: Hands-on experience building interactive reports, executive dashboards, or applications using Power BI and the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Pipeline Development: Proven track record of designing, building.
  • Mathematical & Statistical Rigor: Strong theoretical and applied foundation in statistics, probability, linear algebra, and machine learning/AI algorithms.

Even better, you may have...

Preferred
  • Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field (Highly Preferred).
  • Experience developing, fine-tuning, and deploying AI agents, LLMs, or generative AI workflows in an enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on experience with supply chain optimization techniques (e.g., cost modeling, supply optimization, ect.).
  • Experience with workflow orchestrators like Apache Airflow / GCP Cloud Composer.
  • Familiarity with MLOps/LLMOps principles, model monitoring, prompt engineering, and deployment pipelines.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills to effectively present AI-driven recommendations to FCSD leadership.

Key Technical Skills & Tools
  • Languages: Python and SQL (BigQuery)
  • Cloud Platform: GCP (BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions)
