Full Job Description

As a Senior Advisor, Data Risk Governance and Analysis, you help assess data management processes to ensure data is used effectively and securely for the benefit of members and clients, in compliance with regulatory, privacy, confidentiality and security requirements. You help teams recognize and manage data as a strategic asset. You provide leadership to stakeholders by developing approaches adapted to a wide range of business needs and providing strategic guidance on complex issues during risk assessment workshops. You make recommendations on data use and compliance with applicable data governance frameworks for files that are highly complex from both an operational and conceptual standpoint and have a significant impact on the business sector. Your work requires extensive, in-depth knowledge of data governance and risk management. You serve as a data governance advisor and subject matter expert for a variety of stakeholders and as a key resource for decision-making bodies. You interact with many colleagues, partners and clients from a wide range of fields, to understand and communicate issues and influence decision-making. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Analyze and assess data-related risks using established practices, frameworks and taxonomies
  • Help business sectors identify and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures
  • Help advance data risk management practices, especially in terms of data quality, availability, governance and the responsible use of data and AI
  • Advise teams on enhancing and applying data management processes and controls.
  • Enhance standards, processes, tools and best practices related to the foundations of data governance and risk assessment
  • Work with the second line of defence to apply risk assessment best practices
  • Coordinate, monitor and measure the performance of the standards and practices implemented in response to risk assessments, and communicate the results

What you bring to the table

  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience
