This role serves as a key manufacturing engineering subject matter expert and is responsible for leading complex manufacturing initiatives with significant impact to quality, cost, delivery, and operational performance.

The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer collaborates cross-functionally with Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Program Management, and leadership teams to develop robust, manufacturable, and scalable production solutions. This role is expected to lead complex process development activities, drive manufacturing strategy, mentor engineering personnel, and support the advancement of manufacturing technologies, equipment, and operational best practices across the organization.

The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer also plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing readiness, process validation, continuous improvement initiatives, capital equipment implementation, and technical problem-solving activities within regulated manufacturing environments.

Major Responsibilities: reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:

  • Lead the development, implementation, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixturing, and production methodologies for new and existing products.
  • Serve as a senior technical manufacturing engineering resource responsible for leading complex and high-impact manufacturing and NPI programs from concept through production release.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), process optimization, and manufacturing risk reduction activities with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead manufacturing activities within the NPI Stage Gate process, including manufacturing planning, DFM/DFA reviews, PFMEA development, process validation strategy, tooling and fixture development, manufacturing readiness assessments, and production ramp activities to ensure successful transition into production.
  • Develop and implement advanced machining, assembly, inspection, automation, and production methodologies to improve quality, throughput, repeatability, and manufacturability.
  • Lead process validation activities including IQ, OQ, PQ, capability studies, first article inspections, and process qualification efforts within regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Lead complex root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for manufacturing, process, and quality-related issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing cost, improving yield, minimizing variation, increasing throughput, and improving operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate manufacturing risks and lead PFMEA and process risk mitigation activities for new and existing manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing standards, engineering procedures, best practices, and scalable process controls across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineering to ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 9001 requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality management system standards.
  • Support supplier development, outside processing qualification, and manufacturing capability assessments as needed.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching to junior and mid-level manufacturing engineers while supporting overall engineering team development.
