About the role.We are seeking an experienced Pricing Actuary to lead pricing initiatives across PURE's largest and most complex states. This role partners closely with State Product Management, Pricing, and Underwriting teams to drive growth, market responsiveness, and regulatory alignment.
The successful candidate will bring strong actuarial pricing expertise, cross-functional leadership skills, and regulatory engagement capabilities. This role requires deep analytical skills, strong business judgment, and the ability to influence strategy in a dynamic market environment.
What you'll do.- Lead actuarial analysis and pricing support for state-specific strategies in each of PURE's top states.
- Partner with Product, Pricing, Underwriting, Claims and Finance teams to support state strategy and business objectives.
- Monitor business performance and recommend corrective actions to achieve target profitability and growth objectives.
- Lead actuarial support for rate filings and regulatory discussions, including indications, memoranda, exhibits, and objection responses.
- Evaluate and enhance pricing methodologies, assumptions, governance, and analytical tools to support sound actuarial decision-making.
- Provide actionable insights through analysis of trends, catastrophe exposure, reinsurance considerations, and emerging risks.
- Clearly communicate complex actuarial analyses, pricing methodologies, and strategic recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to actuarial analysts through the rate filing process.
What you'll need.- ACAS or FCAS credential required.
- 7+ years of relevant actuarial pricing experience in Property & Casualty insurance.
- Experience supporting personal lines or high-net-worth insurance products preferred.
- Strong understanding of ratemaking, predictive analytics, and insurance regulatory environments.
- Experience with rate filings and interactions with Departments of Insurance strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with market dynamics in California, Florida, New York, and/or Texas preferred.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in actuarial and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, SAS, Excel).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The base salary for this role can range from $125,000 to $145,000 based on a full-time work schedule. An individual's ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience
